Watch it be Cruwear DLC Blue G-10 complete Black out screws hardware everything just to blow everyone's easy expectations clean out of the water.

We all know BBS is not afraid to demand a premium price if so betting it goes for $250.00 and I will buy one.

Can't see buying it in M390 though. Had these in M390 was not impressed, was however very impressed when I sold them.

Where does cruwear stack up compared to s30, 20cv, etc? I'm curious as I've never dealt with it.

20CV, M390 & CTS-204P are nearly identical in Chemical Composition. Of the 3 I subjectively prefer 20CV.

S30V is harder to sharpen to a truly sharp edge than any above and tends not to hold a truly sharp edge as long but a working edge for a very long time. It is the only steel I have ever had the tip break off while slicing cardboard and no I did not hit a staple.

Cruwear is a different steel than all above. It is very easy to sharpen, readily takes a very sharp edge holds a very sharp edge for a long period of time, is not prone to chipping and in my use have found it to be just as resistant to rust as all above.

Maybe even more so as I live in Florida and our water in my area is very heavily chlorinated and I also recently discovered it is ran through an RO ( Reverse Osmosis ) system and the they are not adjusting the PH sufficiently with ash so what happens it the water is too acidic and leaches the minerals out of copper pipes and causes holes in the pipes and foundation slab leaks.

This goes a very long way towards explaining why my S30V not only rusted but pitted and my M390 and CTS-204P developed corrosion so swiftly and other people go hey wait a minute when I posted and even shewed pictures in the past.

The numbers show cruwear not to be a stainless steel and suggest it should be far easier to corrode than it actually is, I will say this much it handles the water we have allot better than other steels.

The only way to truly appreciate what cruwear really is is to get some in hand and really use it. There is a reason it commands a premium price on the secondary market.

I knew about 20cv/m390/204p being basically the same compositionally. I like my 20cv knives, so I'm fine with any of the three. I don't have the water problems you have, and I haven't had any of my knives rust (except a couple cheap Chinese traditionals).

Cruwear sounds good though. I just know I'm staying away from steels like s110v. I just don't need that much edge retention and sharpening difficulty! If it's in the range of 20cv in the sharpening department I'm good!

I don't own any sprints or exclusives yet. I'm perfectly happy with standard S30v models, but that black and blue color scheme has me giddy!

I don't know anything about highly chlorinated water, but when it comes to salt air/water and sweat, cruwear is NOTHING like m390/204p/20cv in regard to corrosion resistance. Not even close. S30V is noticeably better as well. It is much better than the vast majority of non-stainless steels though.

I am going to buy a kit and check the PH out of the tap. The person who told me about our water is the fellow in charge of a large water control district so he is likely correct but now I am curious.

As far as salt in the air I live on the beach and have not seen it effect Cruwear in daily use.

Due to Cruwear not being stainless it does not get pocket time when I do automotive work, lawn maintenance or anything where heavy sweating or water like swimming is involved that is when I pocket my H1 blades.

To me there is no point in carrying a steel that is less than perfectly impervious to rust in situations that readily invite corrosion.

Thank goodness Spyderco covered that with H1

Unless you need superb edge retention in a PE platform. S110v fills that slot nicely with extremely little maintenance.

I agree and have also found that be true of S90V as well and a little easier to sharpen. S90V and S110V are both incredibly corrosion resistant.

I'm wondering the same ... any word on what it is and when it becomes available? Or as usual, i've probably already missed out on it! Ha !

I received my BBS PM2 m390 this last week and find it to be as near perfect as any knife I have (bevel, center, action). I like it so much it makes me want to order another one, but have seriously over spent for the current CC cycle and pay period.

Black blades aren't that important to me so I'd likely pass on a coated M390 but would purchase it long before I would purchase coated S30V.

Still in the honeymoon phase, but the BBS Delica 4 M390 and the BBS PM2 M390 are my current favorites and I don't mind that they cost me a few extra dollars given my level of content.

I haven't heard much. I posted in their Facebook asking when it will drop, and no answer. I'm really curious on what all the details are.

Part of me hopes it'll be something altogether new, like a coated cruwear pm2. The other part of me hopes it'll just be a coated version on their m390 pm2 so I won't be as tempted by it. ;)
