Green salt handles

I've seen some yellow salt handles dyed green. what dye are you guys using for that? I have an idea in mind for my next knife that's going to require some green scales.

Why do you have to go and make me curious? Also, I wonder what the new green Salts’ll look like. Nice and visible, I hope, yet a nice shade.
- best wishes, Jazz.

I found this in this thread. It's "Neon Green" Rit Dye being used.

I think the plan is to have toxic green scales for many of the LC200N SALT Knives.

What shade of green are you looking for? I have used the Rit brand dark green powder fabric dye on my yellow Pac Salt and yellow Dfly Salt and they both turned out well, almost as dark as the british racing green seen on the Zdp-189 varieties. I used the Rit brand Kelley green powder fabric dye on my Caribbean. The g-10 is a bit denser and wasn't as vibrant as I would have liked. I also used the Tulip brand lime green liquid fabric dye on the frn scales of my Enuff Salt. Also not as vibrant as I would have liked but definitely more lime than the original yellow scales.

Sounds great to me because I'm one guy who actually likes the nuclear colored handles. If you drop one of them or misplace it that nuclear color sure makes them a lot easier to find. And I've just gotten use to the looks of those nuclear/flourescent handles and they don't offend me at all. I kind of wish they would make some G-10 handles with the nuclear, glow in the dark type colored handles.

I'd like something a little more muted than toxic / neon green. I'm planning to dye some scales a foliage green / forest green / OD green or as close as I can get, then swap a black blade and hardware into them.

I love the combo of green scales and black or patina blade and I figured it wouldn't be too hard to do with my favorite knife.

Knives Plus does a lot of custom Rit Dye jobs. You may check them out for some inspiration?

I’d love some OD green. Delica wharnie, wharnie Manbug, Pacific Salt SE black blade.

Interesting. I could be into nuclear / flo lime green. I use flo lime fletching in my arrows, though it’s not a great choice for spring. Pink, orange or blue are great for the woods.

I’d still like to see a black blade with orange, yellow, or flo lime scales. SE of course!

I want them to run this color combo on every model like they did with foliage green back in the day.

I've thought about ordering some custom scales for my Manix XL.

Personally I don’t know why John Deere doesn’t team up with Spyderco and give us a John Deere yellow and a John Deere green knife. A Delica would do just fine but something in aSalt 2 would be awesome

To achieve that color combo your looking for, I would try the Kelley Green as the base and incorporate a shade of brown or tan according to your desired outcome. It has been my experience that the powdered fabric dyes work better.

I think this would look great. They could definitely start a gardening/farming line in those colors with H1 and LC200N steels. VG-10 maybe.

Nice. Make it a tad less yellow, and give it a black blade for fun.

No black DFly blade in any model yet, as far as I know... :(
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)
