Is the Military really a big seller? I know the fans love it (I have 5),but the exclusives and sprints are usually pretty slow to sell comparatively speaking. Maybe they don't see a projected ROI that makes sense for a 2?

I know the shape of the current clip complicates it, but I'm still shocked they didn't introduce tip up with the CQI years ago. Would have solved the #1 complaint and possibly generated more sales.
That is a fair point Abbazaba. We don´t know how many Millies are sold each year.....but for sure they move slower then PM2 or Para3, which often just sell out in seconds.
I think one possible problem with Millie is that it is just big knife. And a lot of people just don´t buy big knives.
I agree on that tip up carry, that could push more people to actually buy one.
Like I said, I am ,,ok“ with tip down, but the damm linerlock :(

Yet another reminder that this thread was intended to be about an existing design. ;)

Maybe one day we can try this subject again, lol.

I think that Military 2 is going to be the best Spyderco that never was.

I think the Military was my first Spyderco back in the 90's, or at least one of the first. I then sort of ignored it for a decade or two until it recently emerged at the top of my list recently with the Police 4. Even the Shaman doesn't seem to be able to displace it.

Truth be told, I really kind of enjoy all the Spydies I own...but the Military is iconic.

I'm not that passionate for or against liner locks, so the change to the Stop-Lock isn't a ground breaking revelation to me, but the fact Sal indicated a change in clip positions for the Military 2 really interests me.

Stop lock, 4 way clip and the same handle and blade. Ok, I could live without the 4 way clip.....but make it happened Spyderco.

MANY will be very excited to hear this and that's great!!! :)

Yup. The masses will love a compression lock mili. However, that puts me firm in the no camp.

Sal, I try not to look at gift horses the wrong way, not least because I love the comp lock, but has the stop lock proven inappropriate for the Millie?

Seems like a good one roll out in OD Green Cru-carta rather than testing the waters with more black/s30V. I'll be first in line for the former and pass on the latter while I wait for a sprint of the former. ;)

Agree on the steel - let's skip s30V and go for the in-demand, sales-driving steels (see, it's a win-win for ELUs and Spyderco :)). I am less concerned about scales, as long as it is G10, micarta, or CF (just not ti).

Hi Marc,

We're still playing with stop locks as well. Eric wants to bring out new locks each year. We have a few not used much or at all yet.
