Spyderco App issues

I’m having problems with my Spyderco app on my iPad. I finally after a long while got it to download and install. However when I open it there is a knife blade in the way and when I swipe it out it goes back to the main screen. So I can’t read anything or get anything on there because when the knife blade is even touched or even the hole is touched it goes back to the main screen again. What to do about this problem?

I reported this issue when the app first came out. It still has not been fixed.

What does the spyderco app do? Does it show updates on availability of exclusives? Or when "reveals" are about to drop?

I don’t know because it hasn’t worked fir me since it’s release.

It can alert you when you’re near a location that has knife restrictions(like airports). It also sends alerts when a new model is shipping to dealers. As long as you allow notifications. Some of us got the notification that the Parata was shipping to dealers last week. I’m hoping I’ll gat a notification as soon as the next reveal goes live

Please make sure you've updated the app to the most recent version. We did correct that issue and it has been tested and confirmed. If you continue to have issues, please let us know what version iPad you are using and what version your IOS is.

I’m using iOS 12.3.1, 5th gen. I was unable to even download the app till yesterday so I assume it’s the latest version app.

I have a similar but different issue. I’m using an iPhone XR, which has no “home” button, so to switch between active apps or go back to the home screen, you swipe up from the bottom of the screen. This is very close to the motion required to sweep open the knife at the bottom of the app, so often when I try to sweep the knife open to get to the app’s menu I wind up on my home screen. Not sure what could be done about that; if the knife were to sweep down, that might conflict with iOS’ swipe down to access the control panel.

I too posted this same issue in another app thread just after release. I use an X. I found that “flicking” the knife almost always takes me to my home screen. But if I use a smooth controlled swipe it almost always works fine.

I guess that’s because the Chief is a lockback and a bit harder to flick ;)
