I'm curious if it's required that all new models be announced via the reveal catalogs now? Or if new models could be released without the formal catalog announcement? The most recent Reveal Catalog(#3) is the last of 2019, unfortunately.

I'm hoping this will be a flash batch and I'm guessing exclusives and flash batches don't have to follow the reveal rules

I’m guessing not. Maybe in the first reveal of 2020? If it’s not an exclusive, it seems to be in the reveal catalog. Wasn’t that the idea?
The longer we wait, the more awesome it will be. They will get it right and not rush to produce.

Me too. This one, the swayback, and hopefully a k390 rookie are my most anticipated new offerings.

I'm hoping it's a regular production model since it's had a bunch of thought and design put into it. It deserves a chance for the market to fall in love :D

I carried the proto today and I''m always impressed with the extreme simplicity and effectiveness of the design. A "so called" primitive culture in Zambia developed the design over a 300 year period. A very exceptional forumite sent one to me while he was a in the Peace Corp in Zambia and I am honored that he thought to do so. The one he sent me was forged on a railroad track. I designed the folding version. You all know him, but he is really bright and humble, lives in Alaska, and if he wants you to know who he is, he'll let you know. hint, an arrowhead.

Regular was way too big for me, I am beyond thrilled for this design in a smaller package (you know what they say about good things, etc...) :D

I think I dreamed about having the Lil Chowke in my pocket last night... Must be because I just picked up a dedicated RGT wire clip for her :-) Really hoping to spot her in the first reveal of of 2020...

Just want to thank Spyderco (and RGH knives) for holding this. There are lots of very impressive knives in the works. What I've found over time is that if Spyderco doesn't have a very specific style knife I'm looking for, be patient because in a year or two or three, they will. One surprising knife for me was the Lil Chokwe. Before I held it, I couldn't imagine buying that knife. After holding it, I realize it's a great design. Another was the Square Head - which I now own compliments of Spyderco. Before owning one I wondered who would want one of those? Now I wonder, who wouldn't want one? It's quite a useful design. Anyway, hats off to the Spyderco team. Hope I can make the Meet next year.

I think it's safe to say we won't be getting much info about upcoming models anymore.

Unless it's word of mouth from people who have seen the prototypes or casual bombshells from Sal, it seems like we won't get much more info until it's officially shown in the reveal catalogs.

Right now we know the Lil Chokwe is -
• about 3.25" blade
• compression lock
• carbon fiber scales
• wire clip
• a stainless, easy to sharpen, good edge holding steel
Do we know, is this going to be full cf like the Kapara or CF/G10 laminate? Really looking forward to seeing the final production.
