Lil Lum Vertical Play

#1

Post by Harkwit »

Heya,

I got a Nishijin lil lum from knifeworks that arrived with a pretty late lockup and vertical blade play.

I did a bit of googling and saw a thread of someone having the exact same problem on theirs.

Can anyone who owns this knife vouch one way or the other? Is it worth trying for a replacement or should I just refund and go for a more recent design? Not crazy about the Teflon washers anyway... :( but the scales are obscenely pretty.

Thanks

For a liner lock to have vertical play, the lockbar must be able to travel all the way over to the other side. If this is happening on a new knife it’s out of spec and basically useless.

There’s nothing inherently wrong with the design, you just got a dud, so if you like the design and can get a replacement(are they still in production?), go for it.
