Deep Carry Clip for the Shaman

#1

Post by clownsinc »

Does anyone make a titanium deep carry clip for the Spyderco Shaman? I just purchased my first Spyderco and really like it, but I prefer deep carry options for my knives.
Thanks

Wish they had more options at mxg for the Shaman. Also wish their clip covered more than two screw holes. Afraid of breaking off the screws if I snag it (which is much worse than a bent clip in my opinion).

I've snagged mine a bunch of times, the screws have held tight for me.

Is the Lynch clip compatible for the shaman? I see a lot of guys with Lynch clips on theirs.

i find a lot of love for the Shaman on the forum. I don't own one, but why is the love so big on it? The handle looks like a more cylindrical carry to me. Does it fit better in the hand?

Absolutely. One of the biggest drawbacks to a folding knife, is the flat handle most have. If you pick up almost any fixed blade, you'll find it's going to be more comfortable to handle and use, than almost any folder. The Shaman bridged the gap between fixed blade handles and folders. It's got to be one of the most comfortable Spydercos I've used.

That's quite interesting Albatross! Never thought of it that way, but makes perfect sense! I may have to look into Shaman now.

I tried the Benchmade Lynch clip and it seem to work on the Shaman pretty well. The MXG gear clips for the shaman feel flimsy which is strange because all their other clips are quite sturdy.

I have found that normal Lynch short deep carry clips work on the Shaman

Bumping this for new input as I'm thinking of getting an aftermarket clip for my Shaman.

I have ton of MXG clips and have had zero issues with a single one, and the majority of them only use two of the three holes. I also have a few Lynch clips as well and they are just as good. I honestly just prefer the aesthetics of the MXG clips better. I don't think you can go wrong with either option though.

Casey Lynch said when I asked him that he is working on a Shaman-clip and that he hopes it will be ready this month.

Was considering MXG first but they charge insane shipping overseas, I think the shipping alone is about the cost of two clips. So MXG isn’t an option for me.

Another vote for mxg clip. I like it much better than the stock clip and it has a less noticeable hot spot.
