Hey, what happened to "G-4"? (I guess the G-3 should have been named the G-4 if Canon had their ID numbers and mega-pixels straight).

Gosh, first I was close to purchasing the Canon S40 then it was the S45 or G-3. But I decided to hold off on those for the Olympus C-750UZ (and am still waiting for it to hit the market). Now, here comes the G-5. Man, is that a nice camera.

For digital photo features and camera design the Canons are hard to beat; however, I place a high priority on that standard ultra zoom lens of the Olympus.

Samo,
This is my little baby. It's got Bluetooth Technology and touch screen sensitivity. I love it. This is the one I recorded Fred Perrin doing a Balisong dance, one in each hand. What a master!

Hey Travis! That's a Sony ain't it? I'm yet to land my paws on one of these babies! Caught Perrin on tape huh? Whoah! You are one lucky dude!

Toothed - Guess Canon had strucked out '4' fro the G-series and went straight to the '5s'... Some good things are worth the wait.. I almost dived into the G-2 bandwagon but instead, settled for the Canon G-3.. *phew!* But I think if you want to optimise the optical factor in terms of clarity in colour reproduction and pixelisation, better settle for a digital SLR camera such as the EOS 10-D! This one's a winner!

Dpreview.com is a cool site. Helped me decide to buy my Dimage X. This a great camera for anyone wanting to go digital w/out going high-end. It does pics and Quicktime movies, has optical and digital zoom, multiple flash settings, and it's only the size of a MiniDisc player. Prolly the best pocket-sized digital out there.

Much obliged Silver Dragon! Yeah, toys and s do go hand in hand.. I live the powershot G-series mainly for its heft, balance and reliability.. helped me a lot when I was confined at home with a fractured leg.. dpreview is an excellent on-line resource to those who are searching for digital cameras to suite their specifications..

Recent sighting in a magazine: Leica digital mini-camera. Designed to look like their M-series rangefinder camera. Real sexy.

I've been having fun with this lil shirtpocket size baby. Eats batteries, butt I guess they all do. I carry six 2100ma AA's and ac/dc charger and a USB card reader and I'm still in a bag smaller than my wife's ready case for her 35MM without flash.

I played with the Canon 1Ds, 11 megapixals, at the store but for $8000.00 it is a wee out of my price range. I'm looking to get a Canon 10D in the next few months and that will be my swicth to full digital. I still use the EOS-5 body and love it. And for little stuff the I find my digital elph to be great.

mmmm... the EOS 1-D! Totally CL to fiddle around with! Think its waaaay out my range.. Perhaps the 10-D which is more down-to-earth.. Most of the photographers at my office are regular users of the 1-D..
