The kapara for a millie

#1

Post by GiftedMisfit »

Just like the title says. A good buddy of mine is in love with the kapara and offered to trade one of his millies for it.

Just wondering what you guys think? Is it worth it?

If it's not a rare millie, go for it.

I would personally prefer to have the Kapara right now. At least you can find Militaries in stock. :D

OP, you have the Kapara and friend is offering you a Military for it?

Two factors:
Which version?
How good a friend?

I should add that Kapara doesn’t do much for me, so I know my answer
Past: Dragonfly, Air, Rhino, Lil' Native, Techno 2, Caly Jr., Brouwer, Chap LW, Para3, N5, Watu, ‘Chef, Mantra 2, SSStretch, PM2, Smock, Shaman, Advocate, GB2, Kapara, Military, Bradley Bowie, Province

Present: P4 K390 FRN

Future: Para3 Cruwear (someday)

Regrets: Most of them

The Kapara is an expensive knife. I wouldn't let it go for a s30v military. But a REX 45, s110v, M4, s90v, 204p, or an older collector's item, go for it.

Hoping for a Kapara sprint one day.

You don’t care for the Kapara, which is presently hard to find?

I love the kapara, which is why this is a little difficult. I've never owned a Millie and that's the pull factor. The kapara really grew on me since I purchased it, and now, I really love it.

Thanks for the responses everyone.

I do not know what version of Military. I will point out that the Military has stood the test of time and actual use. It has a strong following fir good reasons. The jury is still out on the Kapara.

I think I would do that deal. If I wanted the Kapara. I do. I wouldn’t trade a desirable Sprint run Millie, but one of the S30V models or even an S110V, since I could replace it, sure.

I traded the BladeHQ DLC M4, for a Smock (2nd detent removed / included) and 40 bucks. I really liked the military, but I hadn't been using it and the Yojimbo was seeing more pocket time. Now that I got the Smock I can't leave it alone, and back to your topic I've only heard good things about the Kapara.
If you're not using the millie, or the Kapara interests you more... go for it.

I've decided to keep my Kapara. It's really snuck up on me as my favourite EDC right now. Everything about it is perfect to me. I love my pm2's but the Kapara has earned its keep with me. I can always grab a millie at anytime it seems and I would prefer the plain s30v LEFT handed variation. So I'll wait.

Thanks for the responses really, had me asking myself a couple questions that ultimately helped alot.

Thanks again.

Couple of points: sweet pics man! The Kapara is such a cool looking knife  Also, I think you did right by hanging on to it against a Military; as others above have said, maybe if it was a very rare Millie a trade might've been worthwhile, but at this juncture I think you did well. You can always snag a really nice Millie in the future!
My collection so far: 52100 Military (2); 52100 PM2 (2); 52100 Para3; Stretch2 V-Toku; KnifeWorks M4 PM2; BentoBox M390 PM2; BentoBox S90V Military; Police4 K390; S110V PM2; SS Delica AUS-6; Wayne Goddard Sprint VG-10
Wish list: Hundred Pacer; Sliverax; Mantra; 52100 PM2 SE; Kapara
