You can always hold out for the Spyderco Sage or Caly 3.5 Light Weight.

The Tenacious if you're thinking about it but not to serious... and then you'll end up with three more down the road six months later.

Thanks for all of the awesome suggestions everybody. I am a grounds maintenance supervisor, and the job requires all sorts of different cutting, there’s no telling what new task it will be put up against. I am thinking a 3” to 4” blade would probably be the minimum required.

Honestly I went way way way left field and was seriously considering buying a Benchmade Bali-Song 87 in S30V lol I found a used one for around $400.00

Now I am looking at a Shaman, Yojimbo ii, maybe a Police 4.

I feel confident that I can sharpen any blade. steel. All steel, and knife suggestions are extremely appreciated! I’ve just searched a few suggested already and the DLT red G10 PM2 M390’s we’re out of stock already unfortunately.

If you're considering the DLT Red M390 PM2, those will drop on July 17th at 11 am cst ;)

If you dont want to wait, it sounds like the Police 4 would be a great choice! Gives you plenty of blade length to work with and you get to try out K390! :spyder:

If you like S110V, why not with a PM2 or Millie in that steel?

I’m curious about trying a harder steel. And trying a tool steel.

I’ve owned both pm2 and military in S110V.

They were both fantastic.

I'd say from the options you listed, definitely the Police 4. All the guys here that have one absolutely love it. I remember you were quite fond of that Millie, so this could be a nice similarity, yet change of pace. One question though...where are you located? If in a hot and humid area, K390 will definitely require some maintenance in keeping it from rusting.

Hasn't rusted on me living a stones throw from the ocean but it has started taking on a slight patina from IWB carry.

I picked up a Spyderco Tenacious at Walmart just to tie me over until I order something. It does feel a little clunky in hand. I resharpened immediately out of the box. So much fun to be back doing this again haha! The factory edge was pretty good, but I knew I could make it better.

I reprofiled to 16DPS at 200 grit, then started with 600 grit diamonds until it was extremely sticky sharp. Then I began very light strokes with 600 grit diamonds making the entire edge evenly sticky tip to heel lol, then stropped with 14 micron, then on to 10 micron!

And she’s ready for work tomorrow!

I’m gonna buy a jade M4 PM2 I found tomorrow most likely.

This Tenacious was honestly bought just so I had something to sharpen, and to use for now of course. Not a bad little knife.

I just bought a new Spyderco PM2 S30V all black G10 and DLC blade everyone!

I have never tried S30V in my life. So I am excited, I missed both PM2 M4’s for sale over on bladeforums so maybe next time.

I’m keeping my eye out for M4 hopefully I can snag one up soon.
