Your 4Th Of July EDC? Spyders Only Please

#1

Post by JD Spydo »

Well today here in the Western Hemisphere of this planet in the Good Ol' USA we are celebrating "INDEPENDENCE Day". And that should call for breaking out some of the Holy Grails and Hidden Classics of our Arsenal of great Spyderco folders and fixed blades with the "hole in the blade"

I think today I'm going to pack my C-60 Ayoob along with my C-46 Lum Tanto Folder. It's been a while since I've packed that Dynamic Duo. Just to be prepared for the two dinners I'll attend today I'll also put one of my CATCHERMAN models in my back pocket strictly for food uses.

And just to be sentimental and to cover the Spyderedge mandate I'm going to also pack one of my old SE Merlin Hawkbill models. A rather Nostalgic line up of Classic Spyders for sure>> but what the heck it is "Firecracker Day here in the USA and I declare it a holiday for all Spyderville participants. Please share which Spyders you'll be packing on this special day>> AND SPYDERS ONLY PLEASE>> It would be almost a sacrilege to carry anything else on The 4th of July  :spyder:

Happy 4th everyone. Heading to the patio for some light reading before the family festivities this afternoon, figured a red :spyder: from Golden, Colorado, USA, Earth would be most appropriate.

Love those scales! Are they painted or a custom fabrication?

Thanks! They're dyed with Rit dye, color is called graphite. For some reason in a certain light the black parts reflect a green shine.

I had one for a while, pretty nice piece. The only problem was dealing with Kyle, he doesn't provide very good communication. He didn't even do the conversion, he sent the knife to somebody in a different state to do it. Wasn't worth his time?

I personally wouldn't do business with him again.

Any of the natives would be more appropriate, but it is so hot so a small salty knife for me...

This Lil’ Native around our rented cottage on Ontario’s Upper Rideau Lake (but my Caribbean leaf is in the camper van for stuff at/in the water).

To enrich our understanding of how the USofA came to be, my wife and I will say goodbye to our Torontonian family and check out Crown Point, Fort Ticonderoga, Saratoga, and Bennington on our way home.
