That smooth green G10 Native is actually really pleasant in use. It's just smooth, not polished and has little dimples that seem to help with grip. I really like that it doesn't tear up my pockets. If it were polished, I wouldn't like it due to being too slippery.

While I'll still get one of these Manixes for the Cruwear, I definitely am not looking forward to these polished G10 scales. Maybe I'll sand them.

I think a manix 2 lightweight with cruwear would sell out really fast

I agree. Especially in a cool new translucent FRCP color like smoke grey, smoke brown, or translucent green or burgundy. DLC with any of these would be awesome as well. I'd buy a few for sure.

I think they are the same
The green S90V Native and the Cruwear PM2/Para 3 have different scale finishes.

The green Native is just smooth (not polished) and has little dimples in it. The Cruwear PM2/Para 3 are completely polished smooth (a dull reflective) with no dimples.

I sold my polished PM2 due to the polish, so I can't show you. If someone still has both, I'd ask for a comparison photo.

Thanks, good to know. Knifecenter describes the native exclusive as smooth matte g10 and the pm2 exclusive as smooth sanded g10

I'd like just a regular ol manix 2 (or XL) in cruwear. Not a fan of the LW.

I wonder what the ratio of Manix sprints is at this point? 60 Manix sprints, two XL sprints (One of which was regular S30V?).

Another knife I'd buy if they ran it in the full sized Manix.

It's crazy seeing a knife stay in the line-up so long as not receive sprints.

It's understood they want certain steels to be reserved for sprints, Cruwear being one of those.

But c'mon already, since no one has commissioned the XL in Cruwear, How 'bout a Flash batch?

Insta-buy for me.

If it sells out in Five minutes, then immediately second run.

Smooth is great. What is wrong with smooth? Variety is the spice of life.

(I have the PM2 with smooth G10 and Cruwear and it is serving me well).

The thing I like about smooth G10 is that it is so smooth. You can't get that with rough G10.

I would think smooth G10 would suit the manix better than the pm2, the finger grooves in the handle are deeper (and a more filling grip for me personally). I think the baby thumb ramp on the manix (coupled with Spyderco's superior jimping) is more than adequate to prevent slip as well.

With other expenses creeping up in the very near future, I'm now on the fence about this one :o

Already having the BD1 LW, DLT 20CV and the KW 52100...Would I really be gaining anything with the Cruwear? I know a lot of people rave about it, but that 20CV of mine is no joke either. Looks great, but such a tough knife/steel as well.

James
I came here seeing if anyone knew a hypothetical release time for these so I appreciate the link!
I sold the smooth G10 PM2 I previously ordered from KC and regretted as soon as I dropped it off. The smooth G10 doesn't tear apart my jean pockets like peel ply does and I'm not looking to spend $300 on the shaman so this is perfect for me. I work as a Forester and I find that Cruwear doesn't rust near as easily as other tool steels in the woods.
SPY-27 and CPM-Cruwear are peak performance...for me.

If I didn't just buy the knifeworks exclusive I'd probably buy this one. Don't have a cru-wear knife yet.
