Spyderco Junior: A great knife that deserves to be remade.

The Spyderco Junior, which I never had the pleasure of using or owning, appears to have been a superb design. The blade and handle with its integral guard is pure genius for safety and comfort, in my opinion. The blade shape is large and utilitarian, and the materials: VG10 blade and G10 grip, are appropriate. I could see and would love to see a Light Weight version made of this.
I welcome your comments on this knife, and if you would enjoy seeing Spyderco re-making it in the future.

I agree, I love the Junior! I would definitely want to see it brought back for a sprint run! :D
I often carry it on backpacking trips because it is already a pretty light weight knife, weighing in at around 2.9 oz. For comparison the Para 3 LW is only 2.4 oz! I also like it while backpacking because of how wide the blade is. It makes tasks like spreading peanut butter or tuna onto bread really easy and the blade stock is only .125" thick, so slicing things like bread, cheese, and pepperoni is easy as well. The handle is a bit thin for processing a lot of wood comfortably. Light duty tasks like making an emergency tent stake or small feather stick can be done if needed, but given a choice I would choose something else like a fixed blade for stuff like that.
Either way, the Junior is a great knife that I think more people should be able to try!

I'd love to see it brought back, I've always wanted one. I'm not sure the sales volume would warrant a lightweight though.

My understanding is it's sort of small, so I'm not sure if it's fit my huge hands, but I love the design and would love to see a junior senior that's a little bigger and lightweight, maybe some great steel like cruwear or k390

I tried it out, it was way too small. I'm sure it fits the hands it was designed for but I'd need an XL version.

I thought it was an interesting design, but the ergonomics were bad for me.

I like the Junior and always thought it would be a good Super Blue (solid, not laminated) sprint run candidate.

I've liked the designs of Brother "dialex" for some time. I've also thought that his "Adventura" model is one of Spyderco's better recurve models. I"ve never owned a Junior model but I would like to test drive one at some point.
I would love to see "dialex" try his skill at a Hawkbill design at some point.

Is it that small? I thought it was bigger than a Dragonfly.
