I broke my shoulder in 3 places and some of my fingers. One side of my face is swollen black and blue and my eye is swollen shut. Someone said it is an improvement in my looks. Thank God I hand on armored jackect and gloves.
So sorry to hear of your accident, Doc, and glad it wasn't as bad as we might fear in that scenario. Plenty bad enough as is.

Best wishes for a speedy and full recovery. Shoulder fractures can be vexing regardless of type; positive thoughts inbound. And I hope the hand injuries aren't too much a setback down the road with your ukulele playing.

Get well, amigo.

And here's a sympathetic synchronicity purple Dragonfly for you:

Jeepers Doc! Heal up quick! Shoulder injuries do suck. Do your PT, make sure to get your range of motion back!

Back in college I had three roommates. I got them all into cycling and two of us worked in a bike shop for a while. Of the 4, I’m the only one who didn’t get injured seriously while cycling. Two of the guys got hit by cars, one had some fool go off the sidewalk into the road right in front of him; crashed into the curb and broke his eye socket in 3 places. I waited until I had a Kawasaki 200 to break my shoulder... now I have a built-in barometer. I’m just glad I can still shoot rifles and bows. Incidentally, the accident was a good thing for my career. I couldn’t do fieldwork but I could hold a trackball mouse in my lap, and I learned GIS that summer. Good old ArcView 3.2!

Well it turns out the doctor said that I broke my shoulder worse than he originally and thought that I did. He said that either he hast to leave it alone and hope that I heal or have to replace the entire shoulder joint. He’s hoping for the former. Also My eye which they were afraid was really damaged badly as the swelling is gone down and has opened up and I am able to see perfectly. I passed my eye doctors examination with flying colors. My hand is a mess though broken fingers and bad bruises all over it but thank God I had on all that armor protecting me. As for the dragonfly it just keeps sailing along. It’s so light weight it doesn’t even sag down my pajama bottoms. And it is as sharp as a laser if lasers are Sharp. I have cut pills and open boxes of milk and done all sorts of things here in the hospital with that Little Knife. Thank you Sal for such a wonderful design.

I wish you a speedy recovery Doc ! I'm glad the Dragonfly will be your silent trusty companion... who knows... maybe after that, it will replace the Urban or/and the Chappie in your heart and pocket... that's how love affairs start sometimes ;)

I'm very sorry to hear, Doc. Glad you are on the mend! Hope you heal up quickly!

The Dragonfly is a great little knife that I don't carry nearly enough. I will break mine (sorry, it's not purple) out when I get home today and carry it this weekend in solidarity!

Wow, I'm so sorry to hear you're injured Doc! I hope you recover quickly and completely. I'm glad to hear you've got a D'Fly to play with while you're laid up in the hospital. I'm traveling this week but I happen to have one of my D'Fly's with me...( I love that little design!)...I'll be carrying my Hap40 Dragonfly and thinking of you today. Best wishes!

I sorta thought you might be underestimating your injuries, given the accident... Don’t push too hard on the recovery pedal. Your body already knows what it needs to do. But get well soon. And don’t flash the D’fly too much.
