I am totally with you, especially on getting rid of the choil and lengthen the actual edge:
BUT: I am pretty sure that this is technically not possible as long as the Manix features the (great!) caged ball bearing lock. Its size and location in the handle requires some kind of choil (or a VERY wide handle) as far as I understand.
That being said: I´d gladly take a Manix backlock without a choil...

Okay, that is AWESOME lol. What model is that? Tell us a little about it?
That is a modified Rock Lobster, which is well out of production. The handle and blade tip were very different from the factory.

Manix lightweight screw construction and metal ball bearing cage.
Endura and Delica with forward fingers choils ala Byrd Cara Cara and Meadowlark. OR redesign the existing first handle choil to fit a single index finger.
Deep carry spoonbill clip
Redesign of existing deep carry wire clip to link the open ends that are screwed to the handle. A simple tweak that will add stability and stop the annoying side to side roll you get with this clip.

I'd throw some K390 on a wharncliffe Delica, and some goldenrod yellow scales.

It's really simple to do if you have a Dremel. I plan on eventually getting a sheepsfoot Caribbean and doing the same to it.
Yes, exactly. Though I could also see more "saber ground" versions but that is good. I like it.

Re-dos of existing designs that would benefit from high apex stability steels...
REX45 Nilakka anyone? AEB-L Kiwi 4? so many possibilities :D
They would probably only be plausible as flash batches, but the potential is huge.

So I googled the Rock Lobster, and while it's a cool piece to begin with, your mods make it much cooler. Nice work too, I would've never been able to tell the handle was any different. It's like a Spydierocklobsterchef lol :cool:

I've always liked reverse tanto's. Something about the look.
Not many suggestions for improvements, aside from wishing most models had larger washers like the military. But in order to accomplish this on a comp lock model the entire tang/base of the blade would have to be enlarged. Larger washers just add sturdiness to the lock. Even on the military and with blue loctite, the pivot doesn't take long to loosen up (after use) and need re-tightening.

I know this has been mentioned here before..........I wish on some of the Golden made models, lets take the Native and the PM2 for example, I wish they'd offer them as semi-custom. You could get the option of several different blade steels, maybe two stainless steels and one carbon steel, and the choice of either G-10 and FRN in several different color options.
I know, not really an improvement per se, more of a wish I guess?

I use a different clip or no clip on almost every Golden and Seki model that I have.

Countersunk clip screws. I think this would be an improvement for all models.

I would love to see a PM2 with a shorter choil, akin to the one the Military. A PM2 with ~0.25" more cutting edge, would be my grail all-round EDC knife.
