Man, I thought Spyderco had some awesome knives in the prototype case. Probably my favorite was the straight spine Stretch...

Any chance we'll get to see pics of this? Or were photos not allowed in that area?

No pics of the prototypes allowed but the knife looked really “right” with that blade shape. I am one who has requested this for years and it even exceeded my expectations. Some of the stretch purists will probably squawk but they are a pretty small group...ergo the change in blade shape. I’d bet money this will easily outsell the original stretch. It’s a really fine looking knife and though quite different from the original stretch it should perform well for most users with the new blade shape.

I all but begged. That knife in a salt version would likely replace my pacific salt

So may I ask Surfer, the blade had a straight spine like Delica/Police/Military etc, but otherwise kept the drop point blade geometry? That sounds cool :cool: I had to get out my Stretch and try to visualize it lol

Yes, it still has the edge profile and belly of the stretch but with a straight spine like a Millie. Honestly, it looks a LOT like a backlock pm2.

I assume you asked if we will see a Salt version of this new Stretch?? I think that would be a big seller for sure in FFG LC200N. Those toxic green scales we keep hearing about paired with TiCN coating?? Sign me up for both a PE and SE.

Oh man! A lockback PM2 type knife. That would be the bees knees and if it could be had in a Salt version, that would be just that much better. I can't keep up with all of the goodness coming out of Spyderco these days.

Congratulations on the award for the ParaManix LW :D In all seriousness though, the Para3 LW is very nice and deserved that win.

I also quite liked the sun and moon Chaparral. It looked like a very classy little knife with its polished G10 scales and inlays.

This was my first time to BLADE Show and I had a lot of fun checking out the prototype case. I probably spent way too much time there but all the new designs and concepts were just too interesting to move on from. Meeting Sal, Eric, Alex, and Lance was also a big highlight for me :spyder:

The new Para2 handle materials/textures/designs in the prototype case were really awesome and caught my eye right off the bat. The best I remember they were labeled water, hourglass, leather, tortoise. I got to hold one of the new Para2 blade shape models, gave the blade a slight tactical feel to me. Wish they were already for sale.
