After speaking with Sal at the show today, I was urged to put this on the forum. Who wants one? This needs to happen!

Yes. 100% yes. The vg10 version is tempting, but I know I couldn't resist a version with upgraded steel. HAP40 or ZDP-189. Or Super Gold or Super Blue or anything even more exotic. G10 would be nice too, but pricey.

the first thing I thought of when spotting the wharnie dragonfly on the reveal was getting it in a tool steel or some exotic steel. I'm all for it. patiently waiting for it to happen. Sal, make it so.

I like Wharncliffes okay, but I wish that Spyderco would remove that hump back off of theirs. Taper the blade more.

Never pulled the trigger on a DFly. Saw the Wharnie and knew, this is the version that will finally make me get one. Totally like HAP40 in my Endura and Stretch.
So: YES, I'd want a HAP40 Wharnie DFly... and I'd hope for that burnt orange handle color (though the DFly is about the only knife I'd prefer bright orange even over burnt)
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

I wouldn't buy one because I don't like laminated steels. Make it a blacked out FFG LC200N Salt version and I'm in. Or a blacked out H1 SE Salt.

Laminated and all - hook me up. I’m patiently waiting for the VG10 one. Getting tired of refreshing the dealer’s website to see if it’s in constantly. K390 and LC200N sound swell too.
- best wishes, Jazz.

Hap40 is becoming a favorite steel of mine, add a wharnie blade in the mix and I am sold.

@ Baron Mind - If you "couldn't resist a version with upgraded steel", you'll be happy to know ZDP-189 has long since been made and available on the Dragonfly 2.

Would be nice on a wharnie Delica and Dfly, though.

I think you guys are misunderstanding. A couple of weeks for the VG10 one. Doesn't say HAP 40.
