I'm yet to handle a Native, waiting for an exclusive or sprint that appeals to me and is priced in a range I'm comfortable with. I see a lot of people LOVE the native just as it is, and hear a lot of good about the lock up and sound of the lock up on the knife. I'd love to try one as is...though I agree a wire clip would also be nice, especially on a LW model.

First and foremost: I totally grant you a comp.lock. Native and hope you'll get such a model one day !! :)

I personally am not too interested in the Nativel (had a LW for a while), but the best thing on it for me is exactly the perfectly made backlock. Really a step up from f.e. Endura.
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

I like the Native5 just the way it is but I am definitely ready for it to be offered in more steel choices. There have been a lot of S90V Native5s but we are still waiting for Cruwear, 4V, 10V, K390, XHP or even 52100. :)

I am grateful for my S35VN, M4, S90V, S110V and Maxamet Natives but I want more. :) Give us the tool steels! :D

I love the Native, but a Native Comp Lock with a deep carry wire clip would be pretty sweet.

+1! Still hoping for a Native and Native LW in Cruwear and 4V.

If it were offered as a second option to the current backlock Native, I wouldn’t mind seeing a compression lock version. I wouldn’t want to see the backlock model completely replaced though.

The upcoming Sage LW (comp lock, wire clip) could be quite a bit to your liking?? At least looking more "native-ish" than for example the Para 3 LW...

If there’s going to be a comp lock Native, would that not be a Lil’ Shaman? I get there are differences between the two. So I would ask for either the contouring of the shaman on a comp lock native, or just a Lil’Shaman.

I think I like the idea of a Lil Shaman more than a compression lock Native 5! Good thinking!

The Sage 5 LW looks nice but I already have the Para 3 lw and love it. I am not a fan of the Taichung FRN texture pattern tho

I 3rd this idea! The contouring of the LW Para 3 compared to the G10 makes a world of a difference in comfort in that particular model, though I now wish the G10 versions were contoured  . Lil Shaman could peak my interests as well!

A lil Shaman would have to have thinner bladestock than the regular Shaman imho, or, while being shorter, still have to feature the tall Shaman blade-height...

It happened to the original manix. So it seems well within the realm of possibilities.

I agree that a comp lock Native would compete too closely with a Sage5. Variety is better.

Yes, it did. And was not a change for the better, imho... (all personal preference of course)
