Yeah price isn't terrible but buying from BBS with their added on super high shipping is enough to push me away. They just seem like a very opportunistic dealer. No returns, etc.

And this is why we love Bento. $120 for a FRN Delica, must be a new record. Any other dealer would have happily priced it at MAP, $94.25 with free shipping or actual cost shipping.

Giving price gougers their own exclusives is a great idea.

The individual price is a bit on the high side compared to recent Delica sprints, but cost of importing M390 may have been a factor. I hope they aren't upcharging the individual models in order to push their "bundles" and move stale inventory.

Also, $14.99 s&h to the east coast for 1 or 2 knives, and $26.90 s&h for 3 knives! Dude, 3 Delica's is probably still first class mail. They weigh nothing. How on earth is it $26.90????? :confused: :confused: :confused: :mad:

Bento Box price gouges because they know people will buy their products whether their shipping costs reflect actual costs or are inflated 4-8x.

You sure people buy them? I have purchased two knives from them but they seem to move slow in general. They have been sitting on Lil Matriarchs and blue Dominos for years now.

They are a low volume and high margin business model. Simple as that.

Returns? You can always pay with PayPal or a major cc and that will add some level of buyer protection(like wrong item shipped) But if it is defective, Spyderco makes it right instead of BentoBox with their fantastic warranty service.

As for shipping, I understand. Pretty steep no matter what. But at least it’s a flat rate for any 2 knifes and not based on how much you spend. There are some dealers that will charge you more shipping based on how much you spend, with no additional insurance added. The more you spend on a knife, the more they hit you for shipping.

Honestly, if you don't like it or don't like them, just don't buy it. That's pretty easy.

They no longer have a lock on m390, with all the other 20cv and 204p options.

Just take your business elsewhere. That's how business works. If they can't sell them, they'll react by changing something up. Or they'll keep going with their present business model.

I'm not sure why people are worked up about it. I generally don't buy from BBS, but it's not like I care if someone else does.

They would have a great seller had they Smurfed it up with a proper smurf, guess FRN is not available in Smurf, the color is too dark to be Smurf. Ohh Gawd I think I just gave myself an 1980's Saturday morning post traumatic flashback :)

If they combine this with a Little Matriarch that would be a selling combo package heck I might even buy one to have a back up of the Lil Matriarch I already bought with their Domino package both great knives BTW.

I'll pay 4 more dollars for M390 over SG2. Also, Massdrop won't ship knives to a PO box (at least my PO box); BBS has no problem sending a package to my PO box. So every dealer has there ups and downs. Such is the knife life. I'm just stoked on the variety available to the buyers who want item X or Y.

What SG2 platform are you comparing to?

I have been carrying SG2 a lot lately, and so far I've been very surprised (and impressed) with it.

M390/20cv/204p is my favorite stainless, so understand that I'm surprised myself when I say that I'm not actually sure I'd rather have the delica in m390 than SG2.

Tempting but I'm not a big Delica fan. Think I'll wait for an M390 Endura (or two).

I've bought from BBS and I haven't had any problems. Shipping was fast.
