Endela-thread

Admittedly, I started (at least) three separate Endela-threads already (links to those see at the end of my post), but those were concerning more specific features or roles of the knife.

So I thought we could need a dedicated-, overall-, first impressions- (as soon as people here actually have it in hands), comparison-, whatever-thread.

I´ll start by posting the link to the first video I could find (other than Wouters Amsterdam vid): The good thing is: Here the Endela gets compared in size to Endura and Delica (starting at about 8:50 into the vid), though the shot does not give a good perspective unfortunately:

Links to previous Endela-threads I started:

This looks like it is going to be a great knife, but I think most of us want to get it in hand and then we can talk about it. Plus, we have already discussed it in 3 other threads. I can tell you are excited about it, though. :)

Right, but I figured some should HAVE it in hand already... ?!

Missed the second part of your post somehow: Ok, you are right...
Should just have posted the vid (which honestly does not say much, but shows for the first time a direct comparison of the Endela to its other familymembers) in an already existing thread...

I have one that will be delivered here tomorrow. I see a few dealers have the fully serrated edge in stock but I happened to stumble upon one dealer that had the plain edge (no longer in stock). I thought it was honestly a mistake on the dealers part and the in-stock was confused with the serrated edge. I took my chances and ordered it anyways. Sure enough I got a shipping notice and a tracking number. This is seemingly the knife I have been looking for for a long time. I love the Delica, I love the Endura, but sometimes I feel the Endura is too big and the Delica too small. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with those knives. I even sold off all my CRKs once I gave the Delica a chance and carried it for a while (I couldnt justify keeping the CRKs when the Delica was sooo much better). I am very excited to see this model as it may just be the perfect jack of all trades for me. I will let you know my thoughts once I get it and if I can figure out how to post pictures I will.

I am looking forward to it.

I am also glad to know they are shipping, now.

It looks like an excellent knife. Here is a question I have for you:

When actually in hand, will the Endela have the same stiffness and feel as an Endura folder or different?

I'd assume stiffnes exactly the same, feel either, except a bit shorter handle and a bit less pronounced finger placements (viewtopic.php?f=2&t=83743&p=1326223&hil ... a#p1326223 )

I'll more than likely grab one, especially since the price point is pretty good IMO. $79

I'm looking forward to some hands on reviews and some actual pics.

That would be great!!!
Concerning pictures: You normally have to reduce file size before posting. I can't do that on my phone either, just on my laptop...
Comparison pics to the Endura (handle, edge, blade length) would be very appreciated... ;)

Looking forward to trying this one out. I think this will hit that sweet spot for me and many others who don't want to carry something as large as the Endura, but want something a little beefier than the Delica.

That is the SE version but with the PE pictured. PE endela is still backordered.

At least, and as was to be expected, it seems to sell fast and well. That's good, cause it makes other versions and colors more likely. I personally like the Endura FRN blue and would want an Endela in that exact color...

Thanks a lot for posting!
Do you happen to have an Endura (and/or Delica) and if, would you mind posting comparison-pics, especially concerning bladelength and closed length?

Ask and ye shall receive! Delica on top, then Endela, then Endura

Thank you, Sir!! That´s very nice of you and really appreciated!!

One last thing I´d be interested in (just if you find the time eventually): How "handlefilling" is the Endela-blade compared to Endura and Delica? I mean, how much of a gap is there between the tip and the actual end of the handle when the knife is closed? In other words, how good is the blade to handle ratio. This not beeing good in the Delica (the blade could be a lot longer bur still fit in the handle) is one thing I don´t like in this model (though I fully understand one adavantage: Makes the Delica legal in more places and that´s sure a good thing!)
