I'm really hoping Spyderco does a Salt model based on the Endela. I love the size, but I've had too many bad experiences with Spyderco knives that have clip screws that mount to the metal liners. I also really like the ease of sharpening and low maintenance of LC200N blades. An Endela Salt would be just about perfect for me.

I am going to have to get an Endela. I never cottoned to the Paramilitary, but the size is appealing. I will get an Endela this year, no doubt.

Doc,

The SE version of the Endela has been a bit of a revelation for me. It’s my first FFG SE Spyderco, and IMO, the serrations have just the right depth to them out of the box.

Jim
I already like the Endura, after I mod it. The Endela will be nice because it will fit in my pocket better. And yes, the serrations are fantastic on any Spyderco, but this new FFG serrated blade should be great. They are coming out with the K390 serrated blades and I will wait for that one.

No secret that I agree 110 %. ;)
The Endela really opened my eyes for the spyderedge, and is still the best performer I own when it comes to pure cutting power.
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

How does the Endela compare to the stretch/straight spine stretch? Anyone got any pics of them together?

I’m torn on which one to get.

Here is a thread that might help: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=88606

/ I´ll look if I have any comparison pics when I get home! Can´t make new ones, since I don´t have a Stretch 2 anymore (just discontinued Stretch 1s, which are smaller than the "2", and an Endela)

Wow, this turned out great! I had no idea this was a thing. Looks very comfortable, and with that sturdy Endela blade shape a very functional working knife as well.

Thanks! He does great work. All the stuff I like about the Endela and Military combined into 1 knife.

I am not necessarely a fan of making a folder longer in the pocket, but THIS is really cool!! :)
A Minibacklockmillie! Looks great.

Any plans to rounden the Ricasso a bit (of course not shorten the "kick" though) in order to achieve a Miilie-like choil?

No it fits my finger pretty well as is :) It definitely looks strange but feels fine

I had the opportunity to see both today at the SFO. Glad I did. I had convinced myself that I needed the Stretch to complete my ZDP series, but I find the Endela to me a trimmer knife. More suited to my pocket carry needs. So, next on my list is an Endela in K390. YMMV.

THAT is a great looking mod, SG. I had given thought to having him do that for my Endura. Pretty slick.

How does it compare to the Millie handle? I’d love to do that to an endura!

Pretty similar to a Millie. I think Boomer52 has made military mod Enduras before. It's kind of hard to photograph but these contoured handles are a work of art
