Holes where they don't belong...

I'm pretty sure this has been brought up, but I have to ask anyway... Why do some Seki knives use the pocket clip with the lanyard hole, when the knives themselves don't have lanyard holes? Is it a matter of what's on hand or is it a cost-saving measure?

Possibly because they were the only clips the maker had on hand. More likely because they can be mounted for tip down carry, and the hole is needed for pivot screw clearance when used that way.

The pivot screws stand a little proud on some of them so the hole is needed for clearance.

It also allows for easy pivot adjustment while the clip is mounted tip down.

Must be the reason P4 has this clip configuration.

I've ran into this a few times and always came to the conclusion that it was to accommodate the pivot screw when moved to tip down configuration.

Hi Albatross,

The comments mentioned by our long time group are correct.

Very astute observations. Thanx. There is very little on any of my designs, or Eric's that have no reason.

Well that makes sense. I never noticed the proud pivots. Thanks for the info.
