Realistically, 99% would be going to rich collectors then. It seems like people just want a bunch of popular folding sprints rather than a constructive mule program.
The only way I see this program really being beneficial at all anymore is if, when you buy a knife, you have to submit a kind of report (say, within 30 days) on the use/testing you did with the last steel before you are allowed to buy another. And being that Spyderco would be selling these themselves, I do think it would be feasible, but very time-consuming. So basically there would have to be a strict screening process to order a mule.
If not, just call the folders sprints and release them normally and have fun. But a Mule program it is not.
