I really hope the S90V/CF Shaman isn't the compromise over the Cruwear/micarta version. I'd MUCH rather have the latter.

I agree. Obviously I want the Cruwear, but I just think micarta suits the Shaman much better than CF.

The whole package just seems to fit better. S90V/CF I view as more of a fancy slicer combo, better suited or a Military or even a Sliverax (hint hint). The Shaman seems more burly and built for abuse, so a more rugged combo seems like a no brainer.

Wow, micarta and Cruwear would be awesome on a Shaman. Shamans never really interested me but that sure would!

Does that complexity decrease the simplicity? Not at all.

I would totally be in for a Cruwear Millie. Some of us missed out on the last run, and the high toughness of Cruwear seems to better suited to a large knife like the Millie. That said I'd grab a Millie sprint in 10V, K390, or Maxamet just a fast.

Anyone else think a cruwear fixed blade would be a better option? S30V has always been tough enough for anything I'd use a folding knife for, I'd rather play around with this steel in a 4" cutting edge fixed blade.

I’m assuming the cruwear/micarta shaman will happen this year or early next year because sal said he was carrying one several months ago. Personally, I hope the cruwear shaman will be at least a few months after the s90v shaman so I can save some money for it after the hit to my bank account from the s90v :p . $280 isn’t cheap for a knife, after all ;) .
BRING ON THE MANIX XL SPRINTS AND EXCLUSIVES! And 10v or K390ify the Golden lineup, please.

Top 5 folders I’ve owned: Serrated Caribbean Leaf, Shaman, Manix XL, ZDP-189/CF Caly 3.5, Native LW.
Top 5 steels I’ve owned: LC200N, K390, CPM S90V, M390, CPM REX45.
Top 3 steels I want more of: M390 class, A11 class (including K390), CPM REX45.

Agreed. Also, a CQI Military in Cruwear is an insta-buy for me.
SPY-27 and CPM-Cruwear are peak performance...for me.

If I recall correctly, it was a SE prototype testing the micarta. He never said it was Cruwear.

Lot of folks are excited about the prospect of Cruwear/micarta Shaman, myself included. He did note that there are few exclusives in the works. So there is hope.

Yes, although I'd rather it not be the KC exclusive with smooth G10.

That's a great point that I hadn't even thought of. I want the grey sprint, not an exclusive, and definitely not the polished black G10 KC was offering.

Yeah no more smooth G10 I will be replacing the scales on my PM2 in Cruwear this weekend. Speaking of which any good tips for getting the scales off of the lanyard tube?

Do people heat them in boiling water? Or perhaps put them in the freezer shrink things up a bit or use oil or something not sure if I have a pair of batter terminal pullers anymore, you know hooks on each side and a screw down plunger in the middle.

I just swapped PM2 scales on my M390 the other day. For me, it was enough to just take out all the screws and spin the scale around the lanyard hole while pushing up from the bottom (as close to the hole as I could). Came off fairly easily, without need for any other intervention.

The Aramis scales (which is what I put on) are really impressing me.

That is because they used green scales and not many know it is the same steel as M390. I own two of them. People still go nuts for blue scales and M390 on the secondary market. KnifeWorks made poor choices.

The CFTI was a hard sell also I think people get confused about S90V with S110V being a close cousin but it is different and I like it better for many reasons.

Carbon fiber one side Titanium on the other, takes getting one in hand to appreciate, I own two of them.

Yes, no more polished G10 please. Gray Peel Ply G10 with DLC Cruwear would be my preference for a new CQI Military and G10 Native and Native LW.

Well crud I went to remove the pocket clip on the polished G-10 Paramilitary 2 in Cruwear and the T6 Torx bit snapped.

No more Husky ( Home Depot Torx for me)

Do Sypercos ever use T-12 I seem to be able to find some nice hardened Torx heads but not T12 in the German Brand WIHA that looks like a good brand.

Pretty sure the Pivots are T10

T12 would be very unusual and I've never come across one in Spyderco or anything else for that matter. Most torx of that size are either T10 or T15.

PB Swiss makes the best bits in the business. Better than Wiha, Wera, and the rest.
