Pocket wear, Native 5 Lightweight

Haven't had an FRN in a long time with the sheet metal clip, so
How is the pocket wear on this lightweight? G10 is not bad for me.

It’s been a while since I’ve carried mine with stock clip. I’ve run it clipless for a while now and had an after market deep carry on it before that but from memory it was fine. I dont’t recall it chewing pockets.

Mine was overly rough on the inner lining of one of my pockets the very first time I tried clipping it. The second attempt convinced me not to try clipping that particular knife anymore. When I did carry it, I just carried it down in my pocket like a traditional pocket knife.

I have carried my Maxamet Native quite a lot with the stock clip. No problems with pocket wear for me.

For reference, I mostly wear non-denim Dickies brand pants.

i haven’t had any noticeable issues with my native salt. i don’t carry it all the time, but all of my knives are in and out of my pockets a lot because i’m always using or fidgeting with them.
keep your knife sharp and your focus sharper.

I sanded the sharp ridges under the clip a bit. It is better than th eG10 models, which shred my pocket unless I lightly sand them as well.

I was getting enough wear from my Natives i picked up a couple of lanyards. No further issues (nless you HATE lanyards of course!) Oddly my enduras have not given me any notable issues. I am going to take this opportunity to say "just buy a maxamet knife." :D

Thank you all.
Oh yes, I plan to get a N5 Maxamet.
I like the MXG clip for my Para 3, so will look into getting one for the N5????
Yes, I do sand the the G10 under the clip and could do the same for the FRN.

The contct point for the clip is a smooth round Spyderco emblem, you shouldnt need to

The contact point is at the edge of the emblem. I found sanding a bit to be helpful.

I just saw an MXG deep carry clip for the N5 LW (my son-in-law has it). It seemed nice, less intrusive to the palm than I was expecting, and it makes the knife all but disappear.

The edge of the logo drags annoyingly on my pocket. It's really the only thing I wish CQI to address.

Take the clip off, put it in a vise or pliers, bend it a tiny bit, and put it back on. Repeat until it feels right. Mine all seem fine. If they weren’t, that’s what I’d do.
- best wishes, Jazz.

I carry the Maxamet Native5LW and haven't noticed any excess wear.

It's not terrible but it does cause wear.

I use it pretty often too the inside shows more wear than the outside but it's still not that bad. Couldn't get a picture of it but the jimping on the blade causes a little wear too.

Nice pocket pictures VashHash.
The flat clips don't always work for me, they cause what you pictured or punch into my palm.

I wish they’d CQI it because the clips lands at the edge of the oval and it’s a pocket shredder. I sanded down the ridges and it’s good now.

Yes, I may make a smaller titanium clip to fit the oval just right.

My native 5 salt doesn’t tear up my pockets too bad. I do however carry it almost exclusively in shorts because it’s lighter than my PM2 and my PM2 is just a little too long for the side pocket I like to carry my knife in with shorts. I only wear fishing shorts which is basically a more comfortable swim suit. It doesn’t tear that material up at all. I do remember bending the pocket clip back just a little only because I thought it was too difficult to put back in the pocket and not because of my concern with harming my shorts material
