If we could get one to sharpen my knives for me, when I don't have the time to do it myself, that would be great.

I think the Sharpmaker is perfect because of its simplicity.

The idea of making it adjustable angle is intriguing, but I think that should be a different model and keep the sharp maker the way it is.

I also would like a coarser stone.

A mini sharpmaker, the size of a lansky 4 rod turn box. That way I can get amazing edges anywhere! The lansky works well, but after using the sharpmaker it doesn't even compare! Would love a more pocket friendly version!

I really wish they never sold the rights to the Fold-A-Vee, I would love to have a pocket sized folding Sharpmaker that can sharpen serrations.

I wonder if there would be interest in different sharpening mediums. You'll see Japanese water stones made for fixed angle systems over at Chef Knives To Go.

If the sharpmaker rods could be doubled or triple in size (width) that would be great to make reprofiling faster. That means more expensive, but that would be great

Try the Golden stone I just touched up my Combo Edge VG10 Stretch and it is perfect for use with this steel.

I have one and carry it in my bag but I'd like something lighter and smaller. It's a bit big and heavy to lug around in my pocket. It's fine being in my bag, it's not like I use it all the time but I like options.

:) I don't know if I'd categorize this as an improvement but it does allow for a wide variety of grits. That's 3K grit SiC sandpaper. I have up to 7K. It works pretty good but still not ideal IMO.

So this happened....

I was able to tighten up the dimensions of the holes for the stones so there's not quite as much wiggle. Seems like it'll work well.

ZrowsN1s I'm getting ready to print the 15° & 20° inclusive today.

That is amazing Sharp Guy! How long does it take to print something like that?

That's very intriguing "Sharp Guy" and it would even be nicer if it were available to the general public. Albeit I can't imagine what I would need with a 35 degree angle unless it would be a striking tool like an ax or hatchet maybe. Also it would be cool if it would fit a wide range of after market sharpening stones.

8.5 hours :) I could print it faster but not sure how it would turn out. Probably fine but not worried about the time at this point.

The one in the pic is 12.5 and 17.5 dps. I've set up the CAD file so I can easily change it to whatever is specified (within reason)

Black one with even more acute angles (7.5 & 10 dps) is in the cooker now.

Severe thunderstorm happening here right now. I'm hoping the power doesn't go out :) Machine has a resume feature if it does but that may not work out so well depending on where it stops.

I'm working on using the same base to use with 1" x 1/4" Moldmaster stones.
