Hi guys. Just picked up this beauty and it's marvelous! Smooth action, beautiful fit and finish and an authoritative opening. Any opinions? I bought it for much less than on this website from an established dealer and found other spydercos on this site to be truly overpriced comparing to other established sellers. Why is that?

Re: Spyderco Magnitude
Welcome to the forum. Spyderco prices at full MSRP so as to not compete with their dealer network.
Re: Spyderco Magnitude
It’s a phenomenal knife, just not what I’d prefer to carry or I’d own one.
The whole MSRP thing boggles my mind. I get that a high MSRP lets people offer things “at a discount” but it’s just so strange to me that it works this way with things like knives and guns. Perhaps there are other industries that operate on this fictitious pricing model as well? I’ll never understand the MSRP v street price phenomenon (especially when SP is a consistent % of MSRP).
And I’m not saying I don’t understand why Spyderco does it. They do it because people want it that way. I just don’t understand why that is so.
