Spydies in Thailand..

#1

Post by sam the man.. »

Dear People,

Greetings from Bangkok.. Been here for more than five nights now. On assignment.. Totally awesome place to conclude my Indochina tour.. I'm happy to report that some Spydies are retailed here and there are some really hardcore -lovers.. Met up with the knifeknuts here who took very good care of me.. Spent some time checking out military surplus stores here and did some really good shootin' here are some photos to share..

Hey Big-T! Nah, I maxxed out on cash... Didn't grab any sharp things from there.. the prices aren't that bad and the selection's pretty good too! Its perhaps one of the most equipped surplus store in the entire Bangkok.. Wegner? Well, yeah, one of the knifeknut here had six of them, in plain edge.. Swears by them!

That's cool bro. I'm glad that you enjoy your trip.
The store was quite well assorted. BTW, what model is that spydie at the upper right corner (near the MoD Ladyhawk?) Can't figure it out.

Alex ~ think there's a MOD ladyhawk on the pix.. Sharp eyes you have! This store is well-stocked in terms of production knives.. My Thai contacts told me that they too have sold some handmade knives from Strider, Mad Dog and Randall.. The owner of this store is a very nice lady.. She has a teenage daughter and a worker helping out at the Chatuchak weekend market.. It was heart-warming to know that s are well-received here..

expense account? Well, the hotel, daily transport and airfare home have been a total bummer! Don't think there's a single knife which had caught my fancy at the store.. I'll save the buying for later!

Sawadee-Kab Khun Tardis!

I'm back in Malaysia now. Just left Bangkok four hours ago.. Yeah, the shop is AMAZING! Saw some Lansky Sharperner and a Spyderco Combo pocket stone.. Still trying to get a Sharpmaker? What's the pricing like in baht? The name of this shop is very interesting.. Its called 'dangeroussia', well the owner's cute teenage daughter told me so.. Had a chance to hook up with the Thai knifeknuts here.. they are the one who introduced me to this awesome place in Chatuchak! As for ARC AAA, why not consider converting a Surefire E-1 or E-2 with the KL-1 LED module? The price's pretty good in BKK! Oh yeah, Welcome aboard the Spyderco Forums!

Chok Dee,

Thanks, samo. I'm always looking for your most recent adventures/pictures. As usual, it looks like you're having alot of fun.

My guess is that you must have taken a picture of the shop owner's pretty daughter--how about posting a picture of her too.
