Slysz Bowie... ever coming back?

#1

Post by Zatx »

Any chance we'll see another run of the Slysz Bowie? We've just gotten our third iteration of the amazing Spydiechef and recently the Techno 2, sure would be nice to see a Slysz Bowie 2 (but with little in the way of changes - no zombie green backspacers please).

This is my most wanted Spyderco. I have missed several on the exchange because I can’t sit and refresh the screen every 10 minutes every day all day. So pissed that I missed one last night.

I have created a thread in the Want to Buy section that I would give $425 for one. No bites.

So, yes, please bring it back. Tried the Chef and did not care for it.

How about a sprint in some 3d machined Ivory g-10 and compression lock? Maybe that would be closer to $200

And would eliminate half the great things about the Slysz Bowie...

Wow...wish I held onto mine a bit longer. I would have jumped at the chance to sell it to you for $425.

The knife is fantastic in hand and super smooth in operation, just did not like the blade shape. In contrast, I love the blade shape of the Techno and will never let this gem go.

Or do the Rat, which has a lot of similarities with the Bowie. That would be nice, too.

A new Bowie and the Swayback are both on my wish list for 2019. The Techno 2 is a great little knife. I still haven't made up my mind on whether or not to get the Spydiechef - honestly, will probably end up with it before the end of the year. Really want a Bowie 2 though, really do. Would even settle for a reintroduction of the Bowie with no changes.

It would have to be an XL, the original didn't fit my hand...
Other than that(and the lock) it was a fantastic knife.

While we are wishing, lets make it an XL titanium compression frame lock. 3.75" blade or larger.

I'd love to see another run of Bowies. I'd be tickled pink if they did a tanto version as well.

Ahhhhh... just completed the set this evening.

I'd still love to get a new Bowie, however.

There is a 3rd iteration of the Spydiechef?
The original, then the ceramic ball, then what?

Waiting on word from someone at Spyderco, but it looks like carbidizing on the lock face that hasn't officially been present on any previous Spyderco models.

Where's the Techno? You don't have a "completed set" without the Techno.

That ship has sailed, Slysz Bowie was discontinued due to slow sales

Being expensive I don't think will be back soon, Spyderco is careful getting into production knives that are too expensive (they discontinued a lot of them) because they don't sell well

And instead of going back why not moving forward, why not bringing Swayback into production instead of Slysz Bowie revival
