POLL: Would you buy a sheepsfoot PM2?

Just gauging interest on this. The Tanto PM2 got me thinking. I'd love this model. Imagine a blade shape similar to the Pacific Salt, but FFG. There's just something nice about this blade shape....

It would have a stronger tip as well.

This would be the draw for me if one is produced.

I'm pretty sure at this point Spyderco could produce any crazy iteration of the PM2 that their imagination could envision in whatever crazy color made from just about any material and it would sell out.

Really depends what we mean by "sheepsfoot." Something like the Pacific Salt above, or the Kapara, yeah. That would be awesome.

I'd love a profile similar to the Caribbean sheepsfoot, but in the existing 3.5 inch PM2 blade length. Anything to get better tip strength!

No. I like pointy tips. I reground every Pacific Salt in my collection to look more like an Endura 3 profile.

Probably, particularly if it was shaped even somewhat like the CRK Insingo blade shape. I'd buy a PM2 with any sheep's foot blade shape before I'd buy one with a tanto blade.

One thing I like about this, on a FFG blade, is that a sheepsfoot will yield more blade life. Every time you sharpen a pm2, it gets shorter. The same can be said for a sheepsfoot pm2, but much much less so.

+1.
Sheep's foot - intriguing, I'd just might have to try one.
Tanto - definitely no.

Not a PM 2 I wouldn’t. Something in a 3” blade and back lock, yes. FFG and straight, flat edge. No curved “sheepsfoot”. Those aren’t sheepsfoot.
- best wishes, Jazz.

If the blade looks like the semi-sheepsfoot leaf-shaped one on the Pac Salt? No

If the blade is a real sheepsfoot like the one on the Rescue, or something similar to the one on the upcoming Smock? Yes, but only if they make it with an FRN handle

I would have a few years ago when my work required a strong tip, I’d have jumped on one then! Nowadays I prefer a pointy tip so I said no. I’m also not interested in the Tanto, I just don’t find them a useful blade shape for me. I’d much prefer a Spyderco version of a Razel than a Tanto.

Well, it's hard to escape the leaf shaped blade if you're a spyderco fan. There's upwards of 40 models that follow that. But I do like the shape of the Pacific Salt's blade. As I said it would add lifetime to the blade. Models with pointy tips lose blade length at a rapid rate with every sharpening. With the Manix XL, I don't mind it, as it's a tall blade. But I use knives a lot and normally plan on keeping them for a long time, so things like that matter to me. Not to mention, I've snapped tips off several pm2's and millies.
