I see where Zac from BladeHQ said on the BladeHQ instagram account that he mentioned the Tanto PM2 idea again to Eric at Blade Show who said, "He (Eric) saw the video respond and is starting to turn some gears."

ALRIGHT!!!!!

I got to handle it at Blade and let's just say, it's better than I ever had hoped it would be. I am all in 100% on one of these in just about any steel offered. Got a ton more news also bout sum LW maxamet models in the works as well.

I would love a chisel ground tanto Para 3 LW. Flat on the left side of the blade.

I would love to see Spyderco make a small little chisel ground folding Kiridashi as well. That would be a unique little blade.

Looks like someone already beat Spyderco to the folding Kiridashi! Used their trademark hole and everything! What I had in mind though was shorter, peel ply G10, and a backlock.

There’s a lot of Spyderco inspiration in that one isn’t there. Looks like a cross between a Smock and an Ikuchi. Smikuchi.
Possibly the worst blade to handle ratio I’ve seen but looks incredibly useful.

Thanks to hambone56rx for the news. The Instagram post mentioning the Tanto PM2 in its comments section is at https://www.instagram.com/p/ByaZ1ZTH5ia . If you expand the comments, you can see a comment from BladeHQ in response to "randall.vndk Still no PM2 tanto though" that says "bladehq @randall.vndk I talked with Eric about it. He saw the video response and is starting to turn some gears. -Zac"

I carry a PM2 a lot but one of the primary reasons I carry something else is the need for a stronger tip. A Tanto pm2, especially in a tough steel (Cruwear anyone?) Would be a home run! LC200N would also be very utilitarian ;)

If Spyderco were to make this with the G10 handle and one type of steel, which steel would you want?

S30V
Cru Wear
M4
VG10
Maxamet
Other: And which one?

If I was the decision maker for the blade steel to use on a PM 2 Tanto I would pick M-4 off of your list. But most of all I would love to have one in M390. I have a standard version of the PM 2 in S110V and I love it but I'm not sure that would be a good pick for a PM2 Tanto.
