I like it! I’d buy one for sure.
Based on your experiences, how would something like that, both in G10 and FRN, with that exact blade shape, both plain edge and serrated edge, hold up for sea/fish/dive duty? Probably very good?

I can already see the PM2 fanbois slobbering all over the place imagining the tanto PM2 in more flavors than ice cream in a Italian ice cream shop :)
This knife turned me into a PM2 Fanboi :)

I'd probably pick one up as well for the novelty of it, if nothing else.

The PM 2 Tanto looks awesome. I was thinking of an American Tanto Delica and Endura to go along with the work themed Wharncliffed blades, the American Tanto can be an EDC themed blade. I like it better in the PM series, a Para 3 Lightweight Tanto would be an awesome EDC.
My thoughts exactly.

Do you love that swedge on it? Isn't that excellent?

Not for me. Don’t care for it. I have bought the last PMwhatever til I see Damascus offering. I know it will never be done though. But I do think that tanto blade looks nice. Good for those who have been wanting one!

I hope Spyderco offers a tanto, and I'll buy one (or more), but I'd really like it in the Military size. If you're gonna go Apocalypse, go Big. :)

What are some other ideas and desires you have for a PM and Military Tanto?

I did some manual regrinding. Went very smooth and fast.
Hope Spyderco will provide a real tanto with straight edges and a sharp useable point between the main and the small blade.

Para 3 would be my model of choice!

I would love to see the PM2 in a tanto blade, and optimistic sprint runs to follow at the rate of the PM3.

I like the concept too, for me the blade to handle ratio has to be right...that grind almost would warrant an ever so slightly shorter handle
I would keep the handle length and happily accept some extra blade length. Especially in a tanto :) PM+

If we look at screenshots from Blade HQ's "NEW Spyderco Knives | SHOT Show 2019" YouTube video (_9jYzYE2JOU) and Nick Shabazz's "How to disassemble and maintain a Spyderco Paramilitary 2 (PM2)" YouTube video (sta3r7Wyh20), it seems that the tanto blade shape may be better at utilizing the empty space in the handle than the standard blade shape. Maybe someone with greater photo editing skills than mine can superimpose the tanto blade handle onto the disassembled PM2 handle. I personally would be in favor of a ComboEdge PM2 tanto, since I associate SpyderEdge/serrations with Spyderco (as much as the round hole), but I am probably in the minority.

I would love one with partial serration and DLC. Think Blur.

Here is a mock-up of what a Paramilitary 2 Tanto with a Combo Edge would look like (I used a product image of a partially serrated Native 2 for the serrations). Ideally, the serrations would take up less than half of the long portion of the edge, but my image editing abilities were not up to par. If this were released, I would probably get at least 2 or 3, even at full retail.

So here's a thought:

Combo edge tanto PM2, serrated on the bottom edge and plain on the tip edge! You get a nice plain edge for fine work near the tip, and a ripsaw of a spyderedge along the bottom!
