Endura 4 Wharncliffe SE; Calling JDSpydo
SE, FFG, VG-10, this has got to be a dream knife for you?! I’m definitely getting one.

Nice. If I get one I'd probably reprofile the spine a bit to make the curve to the tip less abrupt. I think it would look better.

I dig the toucan look
Re: Endura 4 Wharncliffe SE; Calling JDSpydo
Well I like it all right>> but I would rather have a C-36 Military in SE. I've owned about 3 of the regular issue Endura models in full SE and they are a true work horse of a folder for tough jobs. Which I guess is why I like the Spyderhawk as much as I do because it's like a Spyderedged Endura with more horsepower

Has Spyder made an Endura that is both SE and FFG before? It’s that combination that has me really interested. Based on my experience with the Stretch and Caly 3 in SE, this should be something else.

There’s a fine line between wharncliffe and sheepsfoot and this is blade is walking it. I love the Endura but I’m on the fence with this one.
Re: Endura 4 Wharncliffe SE; Calling JDSpydo
It could not be easier to grind that bit of bulge down, if it’s not wharnie enough. Can be done quickly on sharpening stones even. Better than too pointy to start with.

It is beautifully designed and a utilitarian masterpiece.

Thank you Sal!!! Now can I twist your arm for one in plain edge Hap 40? The Delica wharnny in Hap 40 is my most carried/used knife by far but it needs a big brother to match!
Crazy thought, could a serrated blade be done in Hap 40 san mai? Once the carbon steel gets a patina the serrated grind lines would look pretty trippy :-)

Would this Spyderco Wharncliffe Endura be useful for survival situations and also for use on the ocean and sea and for fishermen and women?

It would work as well as any good knife I suppose, although in an ocean environment I'd naturally prefer a Salt model.

If it does well, we'll likely see a Salt version, eventually.
