#1

Post by Dutchman »

Just received this today and the way the blade is shaped makes no sense to me.
Can someone clue me in?
Thanks!Image

I respect your opinion - but it sure makes no sense to me.
If someone else has this knife, could you show how yours is similar?
Thanks!

Well - I looked at the function of the knife more carefully and can see now how that blade detail works - classic simplicity.
My original thought was the manufacturing process wasn't finished.
Thanks for the time ---

That does look... strange.

Curious what the function is?

I'll check my Autonomy 1 later to see if it's is present on it, too.

Hi Dutchman,

The plunge on mine is a tad closer to the heel. If it bothers you, you can return it to your dealer and have him inspect a replacement to make sure it's to your liking. You can also send it to us, but that is more complicated due to laws and shipping autos across state lines. Are you an LEO?

I will let manufacturing know. Let me know what you decide to do. I did get your email, but figured since you posted here,we can chat about it here. It is the first run of the model.

Sal-

I'm not looking at the plunge line in those pics... I'm looking at the material that appears on the kick, that looks like it was left by an endmill...? Is that a functional detail?

Hi Mattman,

I'm pretty sure that's functional. It rides alongside a spring as a stop when the knife is closed. There was a lot of engineering that went into the Autonomy. Some patented.
