Hello, I’m new to the forum. The DF2 is my favorite Spyderco model. I feel it’s the perfect size for discreet EDC. I would love to see the DF2 in Lc200n PE with black handle scales, and if it was offered all blacked out I would buy one immediately. I’m not a fan at all of yellow handle Salts, and the new green handled Salts in LC are a no-go for me too, I’m just not into bright colored scales.

Should be able to swap blades with a vg-10 black frn dragonfly once the LC200n comes out.

I made a blade swap lightweight H1 to lightweight vg10. Worked fine.

I did the same thing Ric, that is my daily carry for opening boxes. :)

I need to try my hand at the whole RIT dying of the yellow scales, maybe a dark purple would be cool.

Rit Dye is your friend. Super easy and fast. I dyed another H1 Dragonfly to black this evening.

i'm sad that we haven't seen this df2 salt in lc200n yet. also, i am curious what the deciding factor is for which salts get the blacked out treatment. i'd buy another caribbean if it had all black handles and a coated blade. i'd also love a df2 salt in all black. in fact, i'd probably buy both a pe in lc200n and a se in h1 if they were all black.

I just picked up a Salt 2, but a Dragonfly 2 Salt would be an instant buy for me.

LC200N is such a great steal that I hope its' presence continues to expand in the Spyderco line-up.

Hi Hovan,

That's not likely to happen. Making a milled Ti handle in Japan would be very expensive. We'd sell 3, one for you, Eric and me. :o

I already have a DF2 in ZDP-189 which is always in my pocket along with my Native 5 Salt. If a DF2 LC200N variant was released I would be getting one immediately! Put me on the waiting list! 😁🙏

My Native 5 Salt has black scales and a titanium deep carry clip. This has been my EDC knife for awhile now. A DF2 in LC200N would be a nice match with my Native 5 Salt! Seems like it's in the works! The edge retention for LC200N seems to be on par with my S30V blades, yet won't rust, not even in saltwater! Can't beat that! 👍

I'm really surprised there isn't a blacked out Caribbean by now. It really should be an option for all Salt models.

We're probably gonna see many of the Seki Salt models in LC200N eventually, but I'm more interested in seeing Golden or Taichung Salts to be honest.

Why not both? :D

I'd love to see LC200N take over VG-10 or CPM-S30V as a default steel.

I wouldn't. S30V is a superior performer and VG-10 is, as well. Both are better than LC200N in edge retention. LC200N simply excels in corrosion resistance while giving decent edge retention.

What I WOULD like to see is LC200N or H1 become the default budget steel, but I know they are more costly, so forget that idea. They are perfect for the average or below average user because they are nearly care proof and easy to sharpen. They are close to idiot proof as dings are easy to fix.
