How well does the brown/tan G10 take color?
Looking to try for an OD green color, or close to.
Not sure how well the brown scales on my Para 2 will take color. Rit says to use green and brown mixed to get an olive green color, so I wonder if the brown in the handle will affect the color, and just using green would be enough.

Gave it a go.
The Rit Dyemore for synthetic materials worked pretty well. Their green is called Peacock Green, which is a darker green. Already close to OD as it was. I mixed it strong, half the bottle to only a few cups of water, with a little vinegar in there as well.
After two minutes, the color was an OD, but with a bit of a muddy brownish look, from the original brown underneath.
An extra minute made for a darker drab green color. A bit darker than typical OD, but I like it.
There is a very little bit of the brown peeking through on the edges, as they don't take dye as well, but it looks good.
I actually liked the result at the 2min mark, but wanted a bit less brown, two and a half minutes may have been perfect for me, but I am happy with the results.

This got me thinking that I need to dye my natural g-10 PM2 to red! Did you heat up your concoction like the directions indicate?

Just get both and have the best of both worlds!

Yes, heat to a low boil, a little vinegar, I used about a quarter cup for the 3 cups of water.
I hear a little soap can help as well, but I would use only a small amount, not enough to bubble. I didn't use it, and it worked fine.
Dye for synthetics is best as well. Should permeate further.

Same boat contemplating navy blue on the earth brown S35VN Paramilitary 2 and going to DYE my Military in natural G10 with M4 steel Navy Blue it should come out nice.
If they do not I can always dye them black.

Not that I dislike the color, but I got the color for two reasons, the blade steel, and the ability to change to a darker color if I chose to do so. ODG is a favorite, not the most, but maybe #2 on the list.

Here is a look.
The color isn't exact to real life in the pic. In person under neutral light like sunlight it is a drab green, under interior lighting it seems a bit more drab and darker green.

I do like the knife a lot. Very balanced. The color is icing.
