Spyderco model in D2?
Spyderco model in D2?
If we were to consider making a run of a model in D2, What model do you think would be the most effective?

Definitely a Millie! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> What about a Realtree or woodland camo G-10 handle? Perhaps an Olive Drab millie with a black-ti coated blade would do some justice to this AWESOME <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>! The Endura should experienc a run in D-2 and OD handles as well! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Sal,
Ditto the "strong user" input. Millie, Rescue, Endura, Chinnok, Perrin, or Temperance come to mind. Different colored G-10 would be a plus also.
(Meanwhile, I'll just dream on about the satin-finished D2 Spydierco FB Bowie/Survivalist with snakeskin Nukarta handles.....sigh!)

Hi Sal, I believe that it would be most practical to look at one of the US made models. Here obviously the Military looks like a very suitable candidate. If the Japanese producers can handle the task, Endura and Delica would be good in both blade configurations, Plain & SpyderEdge. But how about doing the new Persian in D2???

Definitely the <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> Military, with grey or green G10 scales, would be the One...IMHO. <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

For a limited run of a great steel, how about combining it with a limited run of a great knife.
"The D2 Lrg Calypso PE"
or failing that the "D2 G-10 Native PE" for us poor folks who live in knife unfriendly countries where a D2 Military would probably be just too big.
BTW - I have a G-10 Native clipped to my pocket as I type <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
My brain does somersaults at the thought of either of those.

I would want it to be a PE fixed blade, such as the Ronin or Temperance. D2 is a working steel, and belongs in a working knife, IMHO. If in a folder, well, my favorite is the Gunting, but I suppose the Mili would have a wider market appeal, and I would buy one, especially if PE.
