Hey all,
I’m new to the forum. Please forgive me if this is “not so smart” question. I have the discontinued dragonfly. I believe it’s the first one. I know there are not torx screws to it, but has anyone tried to disassemble the knife? It looks like it is impossible. But, I just wanted to ask. Thank you in advance for any answers.
Blessings,
Bigpapahh

Hi Gibpapahh,

Welcome to our forum.

There are no "not so smart" questions here. There are no Stupid questions here. We're ll students and we're all teachers.

Early Dragonfly's were injection molded plastic handles in one piece. Pinned, No disassembly. Does your Dragonfly have screws?

Sal, thank you for the reply. No screws. It’s just like you said, pinned. I wanted to change the scales on it. I guess I can’t.

Was the second version (1.5?!) with the pinky ledge and spine wedge pinned too? I cannot recall. Was the Dragonfly the first model to have a major revision, other than bevels on the C01, C02, C03 and C04?

Happy! Happy!

Hi Brian,

The Dragonfly design was the first time I went to plastic molds without making a slab prototype. We had to make changes to both the blade and the handle which meant biting the bullet and making new tooling.

The Dragonfly is one of the best knife designs ever conceived.
