New Metal on Gunting?

#1

Post by charlesfmason »

Is Spyderco going to use S30V on the Gunting line?

I am ready to buy one but heard this rumor. Also, is the Lil'Temperance going to get the same metal? Any time line on either of these if true?

Thanks.

As far as I heard, all Golden made models are to be upgraded to S30V (the Seki ones will go with VG-10).

Yes they will use S30V for the GUNTING and the GUNTING comes only with a half serrated edge....
But there are not out right now!!!
I am waiting also!!!

Guntings are becoming rare in the CPM440V steel, since a production run has not been made for a while. Linda still had one in PE at Glasshartt@aol.com , as of a day or two ago. Nagel's Guns in San Antonio still had at least one PE last Saturday, and some of the internet dealers probably have a few. The combo edge Guntings are becoming very hard to find, as has been discussed on several fora recently. I look forward to the Guntings in S30V, which seem to have several advantages over CPM440V.

Yeah, I've been waiting on those new Guntings too. I'll probably get a couple.

Hmmmm, I've always wondered what the plural of 'forum' was.....<img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Any idea when these will be coming out? Any dealers taking pre-orders?
Thanks.
