This poll may help with the question in the title...

I wish I could have 2 FRN Police 5's with 4.8" blades... LC200N and 15v.

The dream.

Native.

It's smaller, to help keep the cost down while still being a useful size. Linerless G-10 would be my preference although I also like FRN.

This would be incredible if Spyderco would actually do it.

The mule would be an excellent platform imo.

Well I voted for the C-36 Military model for several reasons. First of all it's been my main EDC for almost 3 years now and I just love it more and more as I continue to make my main plain edged tool. When they started using the Military model to debut some of these new supersteels it kind of gave me a completely new respect for the C-36 Military model.

I would have voted for the Mule Team but I want to see how it does with a folder before committing to using it in a fixed blade. I'm very picky about my fixed blades. I'm in a little bit of a quandry however>> because I also like Spyderco's Spyderedged models and I would like to see the C-36 Military eventually be offered again in full SE. But not all of these newer/better blade steels have the ideal properties for great performance in serrated blades. I had a gut feeling that XHP would be good and that turned out to be correct. But I'm not sure how to go about qualifying many of these new Supersteels for Spyderedges.

Oh one other item concerning the C-36 Military>> it's such a versatile model I couldn't even think of any other model to debut new blade steels with. It's also a great model to debut new handle materials with too. Like I said before there is a valid reason the C-36 Military has been so successful for as many years as it has and especially in it's price range. the C-36 Military wins by a wide margin IMO

I'm in for a Para 3 - an easy to carry, pugnacious little all-rounder. It's also become my personal "mule" for testing exotic steels; I've already got it in Cruwear, 4V, and Rex45.

I voted the Manix XL. That model deserves some fresh life.

Because of their tips, I don´t think the Military/Paramilitary/Para are the best platform for a steel which in a vacuum is among the less tough steels. I was torn between the Shaman and the Native, but because Spyderco could make the Native much more affordable (I voted for Native LW!) , I went for the Native. To me that is a very important point, especially when introducing new/exotic/obscure steels.

You know that raises an interesting point to consider>> my vote is still with the C-36 Military but for many reasons I also think you might be on to something. I would have no objection at all to using the GOLDEN made NATIVE model to introduce new blade steels. The NATIVE is also a great model for Spyderedges. I still love my old 440V, SE NATIVE model from the GOLDEN plant.

I'll put it this way the NATIVE would be my second choice and I would even put it above the Para2 for many different reasons.

Kind of surprised there aren't more people interested in this steel.

How about we split the 15v up into an "11v" (A11) Military for you, and a 4v Military for me ? (actually I would buy both, before even considering 15v :) )
