Cat in bd1n?

#1

Post by olywa »

Well I've grown quite fond of my UKPK in BD1N in the last few weeks. Takes an edge fairly easily and holds it reasonably well. So now I'm on the hunt for a Cat in BD1N. Has anyone seen any of these out in the real world yet?

My local knife store has one, and it's really quite a nice little knife. The steel on it is slightly different though it's CTS-BD1N which means it's the nitrogen version. the only thing I wish it had was jimping for your thumb.

Mine is 440C. I've had it for many years and still carry it often. I'm looking forward to comparing it with a BD1N. I just need to find one now...

Checked in with a couple of online shops this morning and all of their Cats are still in BD1. Has anyone picked one of these up yet in BD1N from an online source?

Still on the hunt for the new Cat in CTS-BD1N. Does anyone know what type of washers the new ones are sporting?

It's available directly from Spyderco in BD1N, but I'm not sure of anywhere else at the moment.

yea it is but at like 30$ more than retail. ill have to keep waiting. if spyderco sold their knives at the same price as retailers i would honestly buy solely from spyderco.com . but i looked at a brouwer 270$ at spyderco.com and 175 at bladehq.com . the cat is 88$ on SP and 57$ at bladehq. i am no mathematician but i could buy 2 knives for the price of a brouwer or more.

Thanks, back to patiently waiting for the pipeline to fill up I guess. Sigh... never been much good at that.

the bd1 version had nylon type. but if you hit them with a diamond stone to polish them, i always thought they worked awesome.
