Sal, Can we get CPM 15v?

I like this steel. It's easier to work with then Maxamet and Rex121

Takes a killer edge and seems to be more stable then s110v.

Heat treatment

1530f preheat 5min

2150f Austenizing for 10min

Plate quench

Immediate Cryo 4 hours (no snap temper)

3x tempers at 1000f for 2 hours.

I got 64.5rc

Using Larrin's Catra predicting Formula

-−157+15.8×64.5−17.8×30+26.2×23

930 Predicted Total cards cut with 64.5 rc with a 15dps, 30 inclusive angle

I'm closer to 12dps in the video.

That would increase TCC to 1037!

S90v by comparison is

−157+15.8×59−17.8×30+26.2×9+14.6×13

666 TCC with a 59rc and 30 inclusive angle.

Throw it on a ukpk as a test.

Put it in an Urban LW. I'd love to get some and use it.

I'll chime in again with a request for a UKPK based "mule" program, using small folding blades as the test run instead of mules, so more people can carry and use them. :)

CPM 14.9V is my limit! :D

Looks pretty weak on the toughness scale. Can you tell us what other steels rank similarly in toughness?

Anything with that much alloy won't be tough. It's ranks simliar to other high alloy steels.
S125v
Maxamet
Rex121

All the big dawgs

Lets do this! Something with a thin blade though, Wharndelica would be my pick.
