Re: Sal, Can we get CPM 15v?
I will say I would love to get folder in CPM-15v. Looking at everything I will say CPM-1v-CPM-15v has everything thing I would need for different blades I use. I have a machete in CPM-1v that make 1075 and 1095 machetes look like crap in toughness and edge holding. Two things I do with my new machetes and some knives is I harvest and process fatwood/lighter knot and I carve or process multiyear seasoned hickory and pecan. In North Carolina where I live these two type of wood will show any weakness in your edges or blades before anything else. CPM-3v has been my main knife steel for years. When I first discovered CPM-3v only custom knife makers used it. Even then a lot of knife makers didn't like it because it wasn't easy to work with. I was equally impressed with CPM-1v because to me it felt like it held an edge similar to A2 if not a little better but the toughness was out of this world on a 1/8" thick machete blade. I have used CPM-10v before as well but it didn't belong to me. The edge it took and held was on a different level so I can only imagine what CPM-15v will do. Looks like I need to finish my collection with a knife in CPM-10v and CPM-15v. I would be down for a folder in CPM-15v for sure.

Re: Sal, Can we get CPM 15v?
Nice insight, yea I remember my first experience with 10v was on the K2 model, first impression was wow this is a big boy steel and felt it was one of the first steels that really held it's edge and took a real screaming edge too.
What surprised me was
Dang, why use M4 if you can have 10v? :D of course there are reasons but I was pretty smitten at the time.
Fast forward to now and yes the 15v certainly turns up the intensity dial in the edge aggression and doesn't loose much to 10v in durability in my personal experience with using knives in 15v with a custom protocol.

No K2,
There will be something cooler.
Re: Sal, Can we get CPM 15v?
Some history, Timken-Latrobe sent a chuck of steel to me about 20 years ago. They said it was called CV20 and they gave me several heat treats to achieve certain attributes. Unfortunately, the chunk was filed before I could test it. I later learned that Crucible made the powder for it. Then all of the variations of the steel became available, so testing was done.
Hey Fireman,
You could probably get a custom K2 from Farid, but Spyderco is not likely to make it. But I would suggest waiting as Shawn suggests.

Swords slice really well if you have the right geometry with enough mass and velocity at the right point on the blade to carry the blade through the target. LMAO!

Copy that Captain :D
I like the size, grind and materials in that K2. I will be patient and have fun with that new Millie I just got.
A few queries whilst working on my patience...
Is it going to be large? (I have larger hands.) FFG and TBE?

You're welcome. Don't forget to watch the Witcher series and if you feel like a trip to the early 90's with it's list of awesome movies check out American Samurai. Terrible acting but not the worse I have seen and the weapon play is about the same. I always liked the movie just because I thought it was a fun movie. I remember being a kid with a crappy but real steel viking sword my parents bought me and seeing that movie for the first time. Only difference is now I don't have a sword but I am working on that.

Excited to see what will be inside this pouch someday. :D

B3, congratulations on being so close to the production line.
Question is, is that a small or large pouch?
Looks like a small one (Chime in if I am wrong)
What does that say about the size of the knife?

I wish I had his bank account but other than that I take offense to that. :D I have higher quality and material standards than he does. Swords are still interesting and fun even if they aren't everybody's thing.TenGrainBread wrote: ↑Mon Dec 14, 2020 12:13 amLynn T, is that you? :pMike Slayer wrote: ↑Sun Dec 13, 2020 5:11 pmSwords slice really well if you have the right geometry with enough mass and velocity at the right point on the blade to carry the blade through the target.
