Can't wait for this model! I've had one on pre-order for a while.

Hi Ladybug,

The Native Salt that I have has black hardware and clip, yellow handle and satin full flat LC blade. If it's well received, my guess is that Eric will add, black handles, black blades and serrations. The LC serrations tested very well.

sal

Great to hear on both fronts. Will definitely be buying one of every version as it combines my favorite model with my favorite series. Can't wait for the black blades and handles! I still hold on to hope that the DF2 Salt will have a blacked out variation soon as well. Thanks for the good work and the extra effort to ensure a quality product. It will be worth the wait.

Hi Chris,

It's for corrosion resistance. Seems to be more of a prob with US hardware. Seki clips are Ti. Which we may go to eventually.

sal
Thank you! A salt model needs to have all parts rustproof indeed.

I've honestly been eyeing this release since April (right around the time when I purchased my first high end Spyderco). I don't mind the boys in Golden taking their time to turn out a quality product. LC200N is still relatively new (from what I know), so their is definitely more to learn (as with all things). But I am excited to see the final product and know it will be a home run.

Now if I could just get the Tropen in hand...

Seems like it could have just gone in the 2019 catalogue but then we would have no anticipation huh

Jacob and I worked on that logo for more than 6 months with incremental refinements. Glad you like it.

You can say that again. I have learned my lesson about pre-orders.

The main point here though, is you can't blame Spyderco for what the sellers do.

On the other hand, I am totally good with Spyderco delaying as needed to "get it right". I've seen too many products rushed to production in other arenas and it often "ain't good" as we say around these parts.

And ... yes please, leak all kinds of information up front and well in advance. Anticipation is half of the fun.

But then anyone can use it!

IF Spydie design a logo for use on their knives, at least they have the chance to trademark / copyright it.

It depends on the steel and the foundry. In the case of H1 and LC, it was ours to create.
