^^ the above helps bolster my choice to go with tool steels or steels like 52100 that are much tougher and forgiving, but do require some care. Or as Vivi pointed out, a coating to help keep corrosion at bay.
Can’t reccomend 52100 it does not hold an edge very well on my partial serrated PM2 and is no where near as good as S30V

Oh and what coating is used? Better make sure it is food safe if using with food. I do use my knives allot for cooking this is a big reason not to use rust prone tool steels.

I just ordered one , I wasn't crazy about the shipping, but I did not want to miss out on this. I've sort of went all in on this Sprint run, I got the Pm2, the para 3, and now the military. This will be my 1st Millie.

I ordered mine from Bento.

I did so partly because of the surprising (unprecedented?) discount, and partly because the whereabouts of sprints has, it seems to me, become very unpredictable, what with lots of online sellers I’ve not heard of playing a bigger (and dissipating) role.

I was not about to lose out on a Rex45 Millie as its production run leaked away unseen!

Besides, Bento offers predictable service and rather nice exclusives (including the S90V Millie). The Rex45 Millie is my third Bento order. Never had a reason to return an order. I sense Bento has made sure the Spydies it offers don’t need returning.

For me, it’s about availability, then price. the much-maligned Bento did me a solid with a significant discount.
A significant discount of MAP + $15?

I try not to poke too much fun, but that is daft. BBS as a company is a joke, they charge exorbitant prices, shipping costs are double what is reasonable and they don't accept returns.
How they stay in business is beyond me.

I'd like to sell you a car, sir! ;)

Now, I will crawl back under my bridge and take a nap.
Being daft, I can be ribbed, but will not be sold a car.
In that case, you could consider yourself only marginally daft. Enjoy!

Back on topic, I'm trying so hard to resist buying this... I miss the color.

Yes, got a super blue caly jr. from them a short time ago. They also have a decent stock of discontinued models like the chubby too.

I keep wavering between relying on my preorder or snagging one of these that is currently available. The worst that could happen is I end up with two. Or if my faith is ill founded I end up with zero.

The Spyderco Military is like a totally different knife. I really like mine, but there’s something about a Spyderco PM2, or PM3 that feels way more substantial. The Compression lock, the pocket clip, the G10 seems different, and the liners

Anyone experience this?

I dunno, I know on the Pre-Order website it says; “All orders will be filled in the order which they were received first” limited quantities.

Okay guys let me lay it out for anyone hesitating to get a military.

If you get one it might screw up your mind big time bad. You might loose interest in the Paramilitary 2 and shun the para 3 outright.

What happened to me could happen to you. You will discover that you can do things with a longer blade the shorter blades just cant do.

The only PM2 I carry now is the 2018 Forum knife in S90V Steel it has a wow and a cool factor even non knife nuts go for.

I am soon to quit being lazy and sell my PM2's and Para 3's I just do not use them compared to the military.

Looks like these are trickling out to the smaller dealers first? (BBS aside, however you classify them.). Wonder how the distribution is determined.

Great, thanks! I’ve never used them before, but it’s good to have options.
