I'm not Ed, but it looks like a tall Patada, almost Bowie'esque(not Slysz).

I liked the Patada, less the lock.

Or he saw the thread post and wants to see what Mr. Schempp thinks?

I'd have to see it after Spyderco gets done tweaking it and giving it some new pants. It could be a Winner!

I have several questions regarding this unique design, for you sal, Ed, and any one else interested:

1 Would the overall blade angles be smooth or more abrupt?
2 What would be the best available steel to use?
3 Would the handle be FRN, G10, or something else?

Why the long face? :p

I really like the blade shape and the scabbard/sheath.

Hey Paul, "Life without humor is NO fun!"

Yes, saw the post and I'm asking Ed, who does most of our Ethnic knives, what he thinks.

I can't tell for sure from the picture if that is single or double edged, but if it is a single edged knife I think that would be really cool.

I'd definitely get one if it's large enough and functional enough.

1 The abrupt angles in the original look good.

2 It will depend on it's intended use and blade length. Thinking traditionally I'm liking M390(under 5 inch blade) or 3V(5+ in blade length)....but this is Spyderco!!!! Lets have something totally awesome. Only the engineers know what will suffice when the design is finalized.

I'd probably get 2, whether full sized or more of a folding homage to the blade ;)

Every example I've ever seen is single edged, sometimes people would hold it by the top so as to use the tip for fine work.

As with others, not Ed, but enjoy seeing a knife with a WA handle. My Kitchen knives favor this handle and I prefer them to the "Western" style handle. Also, my WA knives are all double edged, Wa, thin "lasers" (Aogami, Blue, White, Super,RG2) . I would enjoy a Spyderco venture in this direction.

Also, if it's a folder, no more linerlocks. Thanks!
