Larger version of the Paramilitary 2

#1

Post by Chris_P_Bacon »

For those of you that;
A) Have use for large folders
B) Love the Paramilitary 2 (but want a longer blade)
C) Rarely wear thick gloves and don't need a liner lock
D) Prefer compression locks (which work perfectly fine with thin gloves)
E) Prefer multi position pocket clips (done right, from the factory) *Tip up without jerry rigging
F) Have no desire to change the existing Military model

If Sal could find/make time (in the up coming year) for his engineer to design a longer version of the Paramilitary 2, would you be interested?

This is my dream knife!

Perhaps dealer/distributors may be more likely to do sprints in this new model. 'Cos lately, they obviously haven't shown the Military a whole lotta love.

No.
I am perfectly happy with the PM2 and I am perfectly happy with the Military. I have no reason to change either one.

So essentially, just a comp lock Military with a four-way pocket clip.

I'll pass. I have never owned or used a compression lock knife, but I like the linerlock on the Military. Also, clip position doesn't bother me.

Of course, the more knives the better, so if the idea of an XL Paramilitary 2 gains enough support to warrant production, it has my blessing. :)

People are endlessly requesting hypothetical models on this forum; one guy wanted a Delica Wharncliffe and everyone thought he was crazy! How dare he change a beloved design?!? Well, the Jazz-elica turned out to be a great idea after all, didn't it?

I'll be blunt and say it, Sal give us a compression lock Military, please!

If they made a knife that's exactly like a Military but changed the lock to a compression lock then I'd give it a shot. I'm skeptical because I love the Military and it's liner lock for gloved work. I tend to agree that I'd rather just have a Shaman, though I also wish the Shaman had squeezed a bit more edge length into the handle.

I want an XXL Military with a 6 inch blade. I'll take any kind of lock. Compression lock would be fine.

Spyderco made a back lock manix. Many really like that model. Don’t see why a compression lock military couldn’t be possible.

So am I, no one is asking to change the PM2.

People please understand this is a request for a new model! A new larger model similar to a PM2.

Nothing to fix, just requesting a new knife. With features that we love about the PM2 included in it's design.

Think Para family.
Small - Para3
Medium - PM2
Large - Name it what you want.

I'd buy that one too!

But taking baby steps here. This new model is something that I believe will sell, and it doesn't change any of the existing models. So no need for defense from anyone. No ones requesting any of our beloved Spyderco's get changed in any way, shape, or form.

I am still sulking after learning that model was discontinued. Here I was dreaming about sprint runs in K390 or Rex45 and nobody buys the thing and it gets discontinued. It is just wrong and sad. I grabbed two on clearance to use as Christmas gifts for my two sons.
