I have one of these on pre-order as well.. would be nice if we could get a heartbeat from Spyderco on this so we know when to expect them. It would also be nice to have some idea of what the sheath would be like, besides “black leather”

I wouldn’t blame Spyderco if they don’t say it’s coming until the China factory is boxing them up. You never know what will go wrong in manufacturing until you get the first production batch thru the factory.

Yea that is true- I would guess the issue is coming from the sheath and not the knife itself. I know Phil Wilson knives are all about the grind and Spyderco wants to capture that with this knife but (and I may be speaking out of line because I don't have any knife production experience) this seems like a relatively easy model to batch out. Who knows what kind of time needs to go into producing the sheath because we don't even know what kind of sheath it is yet...

I have this knife on pre order on 2 sites-one US,one European. The European one says it will available in december.
I also think it's a sheath problem, since you can't find one picture of the darn thing.

You're right. The "Spyderco/Phil Wilson Bow River" thread began on April 1, 2017 when it was revealed that the collaboration was happening but a steel wasn't selected yet.

April 1st.... maybe it was an April Fools joke all along and this is just an elaborate prank. :D

Can't speak for anyone else, but for the "street price" these will be selling for, I'd gladly buy one without a sheath.

Am I the only one that's finding it hard to get exited over a $32 8Cr13MoV knife made in China?

I get it Bloke. But, for someone like myself that uses a Manix/PM2/Salt SE while camping, along with a Kershaw Camp 10 machete, I find this Bow River to be the perfect middle of the pack knife. If it doesn't meet expecations...then big deal, was only $32 :p
