In this article I discuss the new Damasteel product Damacore DC18N along with its core steel N11X. This has been my first chance to do an "early analysis" on a new product. Hopefully these companies start coming out with more stuff so I can provide my quick take. I talked about what N11X is, and what its expected performance is relative to the typical Damasteel DS93X made up of RWL34 and PMC27.

Good info Larrin. I spoke with those guys at Blade back in June and told them I would be happy to run some of my standard corrosion testing on DC18n but alas, I didn’t manage to leave there with a test piece. My suspicion is that the the combination of steels would negate a lot of the high corrosion resistance of N11X but I still would have liked to have seen the results and judge for myself.

Some corrosion testing of the material would definitely be interesting.

I hope this puts some more light on Vanax. I'd love to see this steel in a Spyderco.

I'm not sure I have that much power. :)
