I love the looks of that handle, bet it feels great. That blade though... don't think I could pull the trigger and actually use it.

Blasphemer!

While not for everyone, it is a surprisingly useful blade shape.

I hope this thing flys, so we might be able to see a 2nd iteration.
I also hope it crawls, so I can buy 2...

Is there anyone who's able to purchase one of the Dodo's and ship it to the Netherlands seeing how BladeHQ don't tend to ship internationally for a single knife?
Yes, I suppose I can.
I once sold a ported ( really powerfull ) chainsaw to a guy in New Zealand. Dont see why I couldn't send a knife to the Netherlands.
That would be awesome of you! :D
And if shipping a chainsaw isn't a big deal, I suppose I knife would be fine :p
I don't know if the price/date is officially announced yet, but I'll keep an eye out for it.
Thanks! :)
Just lemme know. I aim to get at least 1 Dodo myself.
Did you get a chance to buy one? :D

My bad... Saw the page pop up in my daily search and figured they'd be for sale; still says "Coming soon". Sorry for the false hope! :o

So it's finally about to be released! And in my favorite steel, or 2nd favorite after K390. The other 3 models (6 counting PE and SE) were all S30V, so this is really a premium release. I like that they weigh only 2.6 oz and are very discrete carry, yet have a heavy duty lock and blade. I'm glad the PE version is coming out first -- it'll be a very useful blade for me. I often need a short but sturdy blade, but I don't think I'd use the SE version as often.

Now we need to start campaigning for a new C98 Poliwog
K-390 on hand: Mule Team 17, Police 4 G-10, Endela (burlap micarta), Endela backup, Endura (canvas micarta), Straight Stretch (now blade-swapped with G-10 Stretch), Delica Wharncliffe, Dragonfly Wharncliffe, & Dragonfly Wharncliffe shorty mod
Note to self: Less is more.

How do you sharpen that, even on a sharpmaker?
I'd be so nervous about blunting the tip!
The first time I opened a dodo, I got cut... Ordered one for a friend, flicked it open, and the tip got me...

Love the knife just not crazy about this steel or jade G10. I wished the Dodo grew on me earlier then I would have picked up the CF/S30V.

Looks absolutely amazing. Like doeswhatever says, a perfect package opener. Especially clam packs. But it also looks like I would struggle to sharpen it, so I’m going to pass. Can’t wait to see what jade/m4 is next though!
Don't let sharpening stop you I have a Spyderco Plain Edge Dark Blue Lil' Matriarch from Bento Box Shop and I just use the corners of the Sharpmaker to sharpen it. Very easy really.

Hope it’s ok I quoted your post from the other delivered/upcoming thread.

I’ve always struggled with recurves and such. The Shabaria was the last such one. But I think you’re right. Maybe I should get a Lil Matriarch and keep at it. Because the reverse portion of the blade is where I have my difficulties, and that’s basically what a hawkbill is. All reverse!

Anyone got intel on a release date for this guy? Still "coming soon" as far as I can tell but I'm not plugged in to all of BHQ's marketing channels...

Good for you SDG. A worthy alternative to spending on spyders. Doing the same. Funds are tight. Already have an orange dodo. Will probably have to sit this one out.

Yea, the wife decided that we had to renovate the house we bought earlier this year. I will eventually get to finish out my knife shop, but her bidet comes first...
Stockpiling those brownie points!

I sold my Dodo a while back for a cash offer I couldn't refuse(instant regret). I will definitely be getting one of these to fill the void, it's just a matter of having the money squirreled away when it comes out.
